The Legend Review that I never thought would be posted

I've enjoyed reading your review over the past few days, Thank You! All I know is....

There are going to be loads of CARNIVAL PAINTED TOENAILS on future cruises. I believe you've started a trend. ;)

Worked: I sent pictures of her toenails to the females on our cruise to do their nails just like hers. Well more of dared them to do it. Since you're on our same cruise worked there may be quite a few carnival toenails between you and the three woman in our group.

I just wanted to quickly thank you for your honest review. I like reading reviews where all sides of the story are shared. While I am not a gambler, I do understand being frustrated if you are supposed to receive something and don't. I truly enjoyed your pictures and thoughts about the food. I am really hoping that they fix the food prior to my upcoming cruise in January! I normally cruise on Celebrity, but since this is my first cruise with my BF and he gets ants in his pants, I thought Carnival would a better match for us this time (young 30's).

Now about being Yankee fan....... :p

To the OP.....I've done battle with cruise ship casinos many times in the past. Usually it's because I'm told I will be receiving a casino credit and when I get on the ship the casino knows nothing about it....it seems as tho' there's a communication problem between the Player's Club and the ship's casinos. I always ask for an emailed confirmation of any promises made by the Player's Club. Sometimes I've had to produce the email and the ship contacts the Player's club for confirmation (and it's taken as much as 3 days to get the casino cash!).

Since we cruise up to 6 times a year on Carnival and I play several hours every day in the casino, they've finally gotten their act together as far as I'm concerned....but you do need to keep after them!

I don't remember David as being particularly memorable on our Legend cruise Sept 11th but at least our drink cards were waiting for us when we got to the casino and we did get a few tokens in our cabin.

Just throwing out a quick "hello!" See you are making the Valor VIP cruise - we can't. (teaching gets in the way) Hoping they throw another VIP cruise this summer!

I am sooooorrrrryyy and sad.............I never intended my post to be snarky............

I couldn't get back on here before now............and I really was just trying to be cheaky..........

I'm loving this review....and I really am leaving in the morning and want to hear the rest of the story.....but y'all know what it's like to try to WORK and PACK and STOP MAIL and CALL CREDIT CARDS and ............I'm leaving in the morning for a disjointed B2B on the Conquest and the Triumph..........

Thanks Barb..........you knew my intent...(see ya in 2 days :D:p )......I am concerned that the Casino is getting problematic.........I haven't been able to get an email confirmation from them in weeks............

I'm am believing in the best that they have my Casino credit there, and that in between my Conquest and Triumph cruises they will give me the perks that I think should be coming to me.

But no worries............I'll be on a ship............who cares where it goes.......I'll be with my Crazies friends....................it's been too long.......I have a smile on my face.........and an flutter in my heart............I can't wait can't wait can't wait...........

Have Fun on your 2 upcoming Cruises!!!

You have every right to your opinions! Your review was very balanced and you should get "perks" for contributing to the casino. You and brad are a classy couple and I think you should branch out to other lines. Carnival's Casino pukes...perks are not organized nor particularly enticing. I admired how you responded to the negative comments. If you were warned I would have been shackled. The negative people on these boards are exactly why I don't post reviews even tho I cruise as much as you do. Will say a prayer for your mom and hope she continues to do well! Happy cruising!!!

I'm exactly the same way. I gamble very small amounts (a little more than $100 a week, though..lol) and when it's gone, I'm done. But I definitely have friends and family who are much more hard-core... and if there's one thing that I 'get' from hanging out with them....if you're going to drop copius amounts of green in the casino, the VERY LEAST the casino could do (to keep you dropping said copius amounts of green) is show you that they care and they appreciate you. Sometimes, that's the only thing that keeps you wanting to come back.

I will just say if you know what a pancake is then you are a gambler. By the way to give an idea of what action I Play. It's between $10-100 a hand. I have definitely earned a dumb basket. That is all we wanted. Nothing else!!! Lol

This thread is anti-climactic.

I was thinking that we were going to find out some horrible thing that was done to you in the casino.

Maybe I missed something...but, other than not getting a welcome basket, and not liking the host...what was so bad?

I agree. All the drama just doesn't seem justified.

I totally agree 18 pages for a basket and free drink? yes we kept reading as I too thought something seriously horrible had happened. Maybe you should have just walked away and stayed out of the casino if you were that unhappy!

take the free cruise from Princes then you will have something free! Surely if you can rack up 9000 in points on a 7 night cruise you can afford to buy hubby his free drink!

Completely agree. Much ado about nothing. OPer put out by trivial issues.

Lucky they had Heald to complain to.

While them not getting the fruit basket and free drink card may seem trivial to some, I know it would have ticked me off as well. Those items are perks that the OP earned through their loyalty to Carnival and by spending lots of their time and money in Carnival's casinos. If Carnival is going to offer perks to customers that meet certain criteria (players club, platinum, milestone, etc) then I think it is fair for the customers to expect that those perks be given to them without having to fight for them. For Carnival to drop the ball like that, then to be treated rudely by the staff when they tried to get the situation corrected, is absolutely wrong and a poor example of how a loyal customer should be treated.

To the OP - Great job on the review. I haven't sailed the Legend in several years, but I'll be on the Miracle (sister ship) in February, so it was still of interest to me.

Good luck to you and hubby on your next cruise. I'm sure your hubby will need a vacation after the busy holiday season. Online shoppers like me will be sure to keep him busy delivering presents!

This link is all about informing cruisers about situations that could or could not happen. Its not about free things.. We are not interested in the Princess cruise line since it is owned by Carnival. Since the cruise is the same why should the price be sooo different.

If or when you get to platinum and you don't get what you have earned, I think you would be dissapointed if no one would help get it resolved. That is all the 19 pages were about.

Maybe that's the only reason you and a few others kept reading but the majority of us kept reading for the awesome photos and review of the cruise in general.

Perhaps it means nothing to you when a business doesn't follow through on promised loyalty perks but customer service does mean something to alot of people....

Forget the basket....

If I ran Carnival I'd give you a nice long cruise...with lots of sea days!

I'm sure the OP & her DH had plenty to eat & drink without the basket & or drink card at the outset but..... I've seen other threads about what others are getting on their upcoming cruise from the players club. If I spent that much money and was promised something and then didn't receive it would upset me too. Not only are there other threads about players club baskets, free photos, water etc that are going to be awaiting someone on their next cruise, how many threads are there about platinum members that don't get what they are entitled to:D? My take is that it wasn't so much the missing basket & drink card but the rude indifference.

I love reading reviews (especially those with pictures). Thanks to the OP and her DH for taking the time to share their experience.

You're right on point there......when we turned Platinum we had to fight the whole cruise for the perks we were entitled to and supposed to get automatically. Also when I turned milestone in Aug I was given the platinum card....I mean really! They knew it was my milestone cruise because the 25% OBC was on my account. Why should we have to waste time going to the purser's desk to get it straightened out?

Great review, loved the photos, large font, and EVERY TRIP has good and bad. And EVERY company has something that they can work on - something that matters to you, should matter to the company.

So thank you very much for a very truthful review.

When we turned Milestone they also forgot to give us the white card but like you, did get the OBC. It was no big deal though, we just went to guest services and they gave us a sparkling white one. :p

We didn't look at it as a waste of time, just an indication of the "new times in the cruise world."

I enjoyed your review and your pictures!! Thanks for taking all the time to do this. Praying for your mom's recovery, also.

I totally understand your frustration with not being attended to appropriately in the casino. You both handled it with grace!

After breakfast, my stomach started acting up again so I laid on a lounge chair by the pool until Jimmy & Lillian found us. I was ready to go by that time so we said our good-byes and made our way down stairs to leave the ship. There were plenty of porters around so we asked one for some help and he happily loaded his dolly with our luggage and brought it to the parking garage, which is where our car was. We were on our way home by 9:45 and in our driveway by 11am.

My baby was VERY glad we were home!

I noticed that plug thingy in your suitcase. I've never seen anything like that. Where did you get it? I want one!
