Explorations Cafe question

I never really noticed before, but do they have blended frozen drinks that don't contain coffee, similar to Starbucks? (Just as examples, for those who wouldn't even go into a Starbucks if they weren't getting coffee, chocolate chip, strawberry, vanilla creme, etc.)

I have never seen non-coffee frozen drinks in the Explorer's Cafe.

Tea and coffee drinks only as far as I know.

They have an iced cocoa drink (with whipped cream) that DH loves. I like the iced chai tea drink.

I'm in a constant struggle on every ship at Explorations Cafe to get a real iced coffee. They only know to brew it hot and dump a pile of ice cubes in to chill it. It is not drinkable when they do that. I've tried to 'teach' them how to make it but it isn't something they are successful at doing.

 

Oh well.........

I will keep trying, though. :D

I drink it black and have yet to have them make one I could drink. It turns out to be brown colored water by the time they chill the piping hot coffee with ice cubes. I have left every one of the ones I ordrered on the counter as I can't drink it.

 

But I do keep trying.

I've found the people at the Explorations Cafe to be very willing to take instruction because I'm TRULY high-maintenance about my coffee :) Have you tried a double-shot espresso, with a glass of ice cubes? Served separately, then you can ice it yourself?

 

I order a double-shot Americano, 3/4 water and by the 2nd time the server and I usually are able to make me a perfect cup of coffee.

I can only drink black decaf. I don't want any milk or cream and absolutely have to avoid caffeine for cardiac reasons.

 

What I have asked them to do is brew the coffee. Put in in the paper cup and put it in the frig. I'll return in an hour and have them pour it over ice. Doesn't work. :D
