EithneMay Posted November 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2011 We will be aboard the Summit on SuperBowl Sunday... does the ship do anything fun for this day? It happens to be a sea day, and I was hoping they aired the game in the theater and maybe offered snacks and/or drink specials.
Boiler Fan Posted November 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2011 Super Bowl Sunday on board is lots of fun. We were on the Eclipse last Feb. for the Super Bowl and had a great time. The party is in the theater and the game is shown on a giant screen. Each teams' supporters sit on opposite sides of the theatre and crew members lead cheers. There's lots of food and drink - mostly tailgating kinds of food - burgers, wings, nachos, etc. It's a great atmosphere and makes the game really fun. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we are doing it again in 2012!
lais Posted November 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2011 That sounds great but on the Constellation they had nothing going on. The game was on in the Casino only. We had to make our own party. Still had a great time.
jones124 Posted November 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2011 Boiler fan is right the Super Bowl on a cruise is a blast. It's even better when your team is in the game and they pull off a win. I've cruised over the last two Super Bowls last year on Mercury and had lots of fun. They have drink specials as well. The satellite feed can get a little sketchy at times depending on the weather but the atmosphere more then made up for the occasional signal fad. The game is on in the staterooms as well so if you have a suite you can throw a small Super Bowl party.

Rare Lois R Posted November 9, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2011 I sailed SUMMIT for the SUPER BOWL this year:)..wow...it has been 9 months since that happened! They had a BIG spread in the Celebrity Theater...all kinds of food, finger foods AND a carving station too. All sorts of stuff. When I say they had a big screen...they had a GIANT SCREEN that took up the entire stage! They also had a smaller buffet in the casino too. I had a blast:D...wish I could sail for the Superbowl in 2012 but it is not happening for me this time. I will have to watch from home... (boring:rolleyes: compared to the ship). Hope you have a wonderful time:)

EithneMay Posted November 10, 2011 Author #10 Share Posted November 10, 2011 Great to hear reviews. I have a feeling the ship will go all out, especially since it will probably be mostly US citizens on the ship, and the SuperBowl is on a sea day!
