Review from the Epic Mediterranean from a first-time cruiser! (Long overdue)

Great review!!

We were among those who decided to head into Mallorca that day. It was grey, and we hopped on the bus, and got to this covered staircase and the skies opened up. Suddenly a guy shows up selling umbrellas for 5 Euro. We laughed hysterically, then bought 2 and headed onward.

We wandered through the beautiful old city and into this massive courtyard. We grabbed a table out of the rain, had some fantastic pizza and a couple of beer each. The skies turned blue and we explored some more.

On our way back through that same covered staircase, we saw the same guy selling sunglasses.

Classic!!

We got back early enough that my two friends hit the slides, so I wouldn't be surprised if you were there at the same time.

We walked from the train station in Sorrento. Everything is very close together, it seemed. They had maps of the village at an information booth right outside the train station. We ate near the water on Via Marina Piccola, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. Sorry! I've learned better and will write these things down on future cruises...

We are doing some of the same ports in August on the Epic, so I am very glad that this review was linked in another thread! Thanks!

Was Rome really easy to DIY? I'm considering it right now to save some money and to be able to relax and enjoy.

Thanks for a great in-depth review. We're set to sail on 5/20 with EPIC, any recommendations to shore excursions? A friend of us came back from Spain on a non-cruise trip, and lost everything including passport, credit cards and cash. Any tips for keep them safe during the excursion?

Thanks,

David

Thanks again for the review. We're looking forward to our August 19th voyage.

I believe you wrote (back on page 1) that you took the train to Rome. Was the train station near the dock? How easy was that to do?
