paul929207 Posted February 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2012 The tips you paid apply to the cabin steward, waitstaff and the people that help them. It does not apply to beverages. RCI adds the tip to every beverage purchase. It is 15%
cb at sea Posted February 9, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Whether you buy a drink package or drinks "by the drink", you will have a 15% tip added to the cost for the bartender. Sorry...can't help with your ports...you may want to check out a guidebook on things to do at your ports, and how to get about!
jdvmd Posted February 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2012 A 15 percent tip will be automatically added to the bill that you will sign. There is also a blank line that you can fill in to add an additional tip if you so desire.

bgjj04 Posted February 11, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 11, 2012 just trying to work out on board cost cheers The following defines "drink" as an alcoholic beverage. It obviously depends on how much you drink and spend in the shops and excursions, but my fiance and I budget with the expectation that our onboard charges will equal the ticket price for one of us (half the total that we spent to book, booking an inside or ocean-view stateroom). At $6-8 a drink we're casual drinkers (a couple each at dinner, and a couple each through the day), and we do pre-book some excursions. It also depends how many days at sea you have. If you have a port-heavy itinerary, you won't be on the ship as much to charge to your on-board account. We also don't drink too many non-alcoholic drinks that have a charge (pop/soda, etc), and typically stick with water, tea or lemonade.

It is different on other RCI ships. Jo.
