1948buddy Posted February 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Am trying to find recent prices for these day passes, and can you just show up and purchase them? Would just like to have beach access, and ability to purchase a drink, or a light meal. Thank you for any assistance.

Would just like to have beach access, and ability to purchase a drink, or a light meal. Thank you for any assistance. Purchase same day. No advance purchase available. Wyndham is $40pp and includes a buffet lunch Sheraton is $25pp - does not include food or drink. Both have pools, water toys etc.
1948buddy Posted February 20, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Thank you. I meant to ask. Are they both at cable beach? Purchase same day. No advance purchase available. scubagirrl Posted February 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Thank you. I meant to ask. Are they both at cable beach? Yes, sister properties, connected with a casino in the middle. Sheraton may be a better choice, since it's spring break and wydham becomes more of a party place. Security at Sheraton keeps the breakers from interfering with the guests relaxing. Kimpossible70 Posted February 20, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Just an additional question. Could we bring some things to eat and maybe some water with us, or is that frowned upon. We would probably still buy some drinks there.
1948buddy Posted February 20, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted February 20, 2012 I would not see a problem with that whatsoever.
scubagirrl Posted February 20, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 20, 2012 I would not see a problem with that whatsoever. Actually they frown on outside food and drinks.. Of course, some will get away with it. The whole idea of hotels allowing outside guests is so they will SPEND MONEY on their concessions.

Trying to decide between the Sheraton and the Hilton for a beach day for my husband and me. The beach and pools look nicer at the Sheraton, but the comfy chairs and value seem good at the Hilton. cruiseapril Posted February 20, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Hi- We enjoy both the Sheraton and the Hilton. The pools at the Sheraton are larger and more numerous and the beach is nicer, but the Hilton is a relaxing place- a lovely hotel.
trish2375 Posted February 23, 2012 #11 Share Posted February 23, 2012 Would the Sheraton or the whyndam be a better choice for a family with two boys ages 10 and 7?
cruisewiththekids Posted February 25, 2012 #12 Share Posted February 25, 2012 We will be in Nassau on April 6, which is obviously right before Easter. Would the Sheraton possibly not sell day passes during that time period if they're busy? I don't want to take the time to get there and then be surprised. And I could call, but sometimes you get different answers depending on who you talk to.

Sheraton should be selling passes.. worse comes to worse, you're back up plan should be the wyndham next door.. their day pass includes a buffet lunch.. $40 pp. You are right about calling.. noone has a definitive answer. It will depend on what happens that day, capacity, # of cruisers, # of breakers, # of events and wedding etc. There's just no telling with ANY property. Sheraton is usually good about it.. but they do tend to protect their guests from too many outsiders.

mrobstad Posted February 26, 2012 #16 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Mrrobstad... did they have any inflatables for the kids to play on? Thank you Yes, I think there were two huge inflatable things but they were on the beach. There was basketball, kayaks, jet skis, peddle boats, volleyball....everything you can imagine.....it's a large beach area, clean, just lovely. I will return there every year, and the big plus is if it rains, you are out zero money for an excursion. Jitney drops you off right in front of this gorgeous hotel. scubagirrl Posted February 26, 2012 #18 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Were the jetski's included in the daypass price or was there an additional fee? Jetski's run around $60-80 per 30 minutes. They are indendent and mostly unlicensed and uninsured. Rule is you must be 18 with a valid license. Jetskis are ungoverned in the bahamas .. and there are serious and sometime fatal accidents every season.
karena1 Posted February 26, 2012 #19 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Been to Sheraton many times, very nice. They have a huge water slide for the kids Not a bunch of shade. Very limited "tikihut" type umbrellas that go fast, so when it is busy, hard to get one Also, just for information - food and drink is very expensive there, so take lots of cash if you plan to eat/drink at the resort. I am sure all the resorts are just as expensive, but just FYI on taking enough cash for all of it. I think the last time the jetski guys asked us if we wanted to go, it was like $50 for 1/2 hour. Prices might be up if it is busy, but I am pretty sure that was the rate the last time we were there.

Not sure if they kick you out at a certain time. In november it starts getting dark early. Beaches and Pools will be closing around 5pm maybe before if dusk comes early. $25 is not a bad price for a few hours on this beautiful resort.
