handbellplayer Posted March 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2012 We are sailing on Freedom on 11/4/12. I check the prices daily (we're in a D1) and noticed that there are no junior suites available. Isn't it early for them all to be sold out? I was hoping to purchase an upgrade at some point, but it looks like that plan is shot!

It's not to early - we are going on the Explorer 3/5/2013 and as of now there are only 5 suites available (4 JS & 1 OS) Pat
Ashland Posted March 29, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2012 We are booked in a JS on the Radiance Northbound Alaska May 17, 2013 and it appears their all gone too..Crazy !!
wolfganghowell Posted March 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 29, 2012 handbell - don't give up. Look again close to final payment time - there are usually more options then. When we have booked JS if we don't like the location, we keep looking and usually can get something around that time. We're on the same cruise. :)
kruzerci Posted March 29, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 29, 2012 We are doing 7 nights on Navigator in December and after the WOW sale, our cabin category is almost sold out (1 or 2 remain). There were at least 10 a few days ago. It's possible
39august Posted March 29, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 29, 2012 Not surprising at all. On some of the Mariner cruises out of Galveston starting Nov. 18 thru' April 2013 all the GS's are already sold out.
monicajay Posted March 29, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 29, 2012 October 28th sailing of the Jewel-14 nights. Not only are all the Suites sold out but all the balconies too! In fact, there are days that the whole ship is sold out, then a few cabins show up on deck 2. Glad we booked really early, I would never have expected this. And who says the economy isn't good:rolleyes:.
Rare orville99 Posted March 29, 2012 #8 Share Posted March 29, 2012 Yep...According to the site that can't be mentioned, they're all gone for that sailing:(
B_Mc Posted March 29, 2012 #9 Share Posted March 29, 2012 Wow I'm surprised....I assumed you were looking to book more than 2 people and that's what was sold out (suites accommodating 3+)! Could it be that several are on hold? I suppose some could always open up if people cancel as final payment draws near....
Rare Familygoboston Posted March 29, 2012 #10 Share Posted March 29, 2012 Slightly OT, but itineraries with few ships and large population centers near the homeport ( that means pax don't need to fly) will sell quickly this year. Airfares are high and Baltimore, NY or Boston are easy to reach by vehicle for huge populations of people from the Washington DC to NE. I've been watching FL airfares and am not seeing much for less than 600-800 pp. That will drive ( pun intended) people to ports they can drive too. AK can be explained by the fact that the large balconies go very fast on AK itineraries.
Pushka Posted March 29, 2012 #11 Share Posted March 29, 2012 I signed up for the site that can't be mentioned, and I get an email saying that several categories have been sold out. A few days later I get one saying that they are available. I think holds are put on categories and then they don't sell so they get released again. Eg for Alaska, TAs in Australia sign up for escorted tours 18 months in advance so they would need to block out x number of cabins of various types which they may not be able to sell. Closer to cruise date they may get released again.
renech Posted March 29, 2012 #12 Share Posted March 29, 2012 As others have said, you really need to keep checking. We were looking at a cruise on the Adventure in December and I thought it was odd that every single inside cabin was already sold out. I asked a CS rep about it and she said that it's likely that a lot of those were being held by local TA's and would have to be released 90(?) or so days prior to the cruise. handbellplayer Posted March 30, 2012 Author #13 Share Posted March 30, 2012 Thanks all - I'll keep checking. Wolfgang - we'll see you there- what level cabin are you in? We have a D1 hump on 9, so we'll be happy with that. I just thought the early sell out of JS's was unusual, but apparently not!
wolfganghowell Posted March 30, 2012 #14 Share Posted March 30, 2012 We're in a GS. But we have done JS many times and are always very happy with them. I am actually surprised they are sold out but I really think some will open up.
ericjenni79 Posted March 30, 2012 #15 Share Posted March 30, 2012 Probably a dumb question, but how do you keep checking to see what cabins are available or not available? Are you checking on the RC website? :) Just curious!

Kakk Posted March 30, 2012 #17 Share Posted March 30, 2012 Had the same problem w/cruise for Oct. 20th. I kept checking the RCCL, expedia, travelocity and just a few days later I counted 15 available. Got a JS middle hump. Excited! Keep trying and good luck.
