Jr. Suites Sold out for November Cruise Already?

Recommended Posts

We are sailing on Freedom on 11/4/12. I check the prices daily (we're in a D1) and noticed that there are no junior suites available. Isn't it early for them all to be sold out? I was hoping to purchase an upgrade at some point, but it looks like that plan is shot!

It's not to early - we are going on the Explorer 3/5/2013 and as of now there are only 5 suites available (4 JS & 1 OS)

October 28th sailing of the Jewel-14 nights. Not only are all the Suites sold out but all the balconies too! In fact, there are days that the whole ship is sold out, then a few cabins show up on deck 2.

Glad we booked really early, I would never have expected this. And who says the economy isn't good:rolleyes:.

Wow I'm surprised....I assumed you were looking to book more than 2 people and that's what was sold out (suites accommodating 3+)! Could it be that several are on hold? I suppose some could always open up if people cancel as final payment draws near....

Slightly OT, but itineraries with few ships and large population centers near the homeport ( that means pax don't need to fly) will sell quickly this year. Airfares are high and Baltimore, NY or Boston are easy to reach by vehicle for huge populations of people from the Washington DC to NE.

I've been watching FL airfares and am not seeing much for less than 600-800 pp. That will drive ( pun intended) people to ports they can drive too.

AK can be explained by the fact that the large balconies go very fast on AK itineraries.

I signed up for the site that can't be mentioned, and I get an email saying that several categories have been sold out. A few days later I get one saying that they are available. I think holds are put on categories and then they don't sell so they get released again. Eg for Alaska, TAs in Australia sign up for escorted tours 18 months in advance so they would need to block out x number of cabins of various types which they may not be able to sell. Closer to cruise date they may get released again.

As others have said, you really need to keep checking. We were looking at a cruise on the Adventure in December and I thought it was odd that every single inside cabin was already sold out. I asked a CS rep about it and she said that it's likely that a lot of those were being held by local TA's and would have to be released 90(?) or so days prior to the cruise.

I really have nothing to add that hasn't already been mentioned by others, but just had to comment on your screen name! I ring as well... B/Bflat 6 and C7, and sometimes A6 as well. :)

Had the same problem w/cruise for Oct. 20th. I kept checking the RCCL, expedia, travelocity and just a few days later I counted 15 available. Got a JS middle hump. Excited! Keep trying and good luck.
