No Brainer....crazy pricing

Just thought I would share this.....

 

Right now on the Princess website......comparing Alaska cruisetours.....

 

AB3 10 day cruisetour with southbound voyage of the glaciers on the Sapphire with tour starting August 1st and cruise August 4th.....BB cabin category...$6766 before taxes & fees...

 

VB4 11 day cruisetour all of the above, exactly the same except leaving July 31st (staying 1 more night at McKinley Lodge)....BB cabin category....$4348 before taxes & fees.....

 

So the 11 day is the same itinerary, with 1 more day, and is $2418 LESS than the 10 day.

 

Anyone else shaking their heads?

Both of these tours have showed "sold out" recently and now are showing pricing again. We were on the 10 day one and switched to the 11 day when the 11 day was $1600 cheaper.....now the 10 day has gone up another $818, and is now $2418 more than the 11 day. Kind of crazy that 1 more day is $2418 less.

You are near final payment and people are possibly changing their minds - thus the availability now.

Supply & demand. That's why it's important to book early. Availibility usually changes just before final payment date. On very popular itineraries, any additional available cabins are usually $$$$$.....

It's your gain! As others have said, it's supply and demand; the 11 night has more availability, so the price dropped. Enjoy!! :)

Truly supply and demand. It appears one sailing is definitely doing better than the other. Find a Travel Agent that does high volume Princess booking and you might see completely different pricing.
