Is smoking allowed on our cabin verandah?

NO

Q: Can I smoke onboard?

A: For the safety and security of all guests and staff onboard, Designated Smoking Areas are available on Deck 9, the forward starboard corner of the Pool Deck, and Deck 10, in the aft, port corner of Horizons. These areas are comfortably furnished and conveniently located near food and beverage areas. Smoking is expressly forbidden in all Staterooms and Suites, on verandas, or in any areas of the ship other than officially Designated Smoking Areas. Smoking in a stateroom or suite represents a serious fire and safety hazard to all guests and staff. Guests chosing to disregard this policy will be disembarked at the next port of call and may also be subject to additional fees that will be imposed to cover the costs associated with any damage to and the required cleaning of furnishings, verandas and surrounding deck or accomodation areas. All areas other than those specified as Designated Smoking Areas will remain smoke-free. This includes all guest suites and staterooms, verandas, restaurants, public areas, the Casino and all other areas of the ship. Cigar and Pipe smoking is only permitted on the forward starboard corner of the Pool Deck.

No. Smoking is not allowed on the veranda. However there are places on the ship where you are free to smoke. O does not discriminate against smokers. All are welcome.

...

Except children. (Just kidding.)

(Kinda.)

Good afternoon,

Riviera and Marina are the bigger ships. Does anybody know if they have more smoking areas than stated in old FAQ on Oceania web page? Thank you.

Yes I know, and the answer is that the larger ships do not have additional smoking areas.

The pool deck opposite Waves Bar and the Port side of Horizons Lounge remain the only two areas.

While smoking on the verandah may not be permitted, that did not stop a passenger on the floor above us from smoking throughout our recent Riviera cruise – one day ashes fell on me. I alerted management to this, yet it continued. Certainly impacted our enjoyment of our verandah.

Wonder what happened ZERO TOLERANCE policy :confused:

Is this another case of the staff not wanting to P.O. the passenger by enforcing the rules

To whom in management did you complain? Name and rank. What was their specific reply to you?

In order for executive management to ensure this does not happen in the future, they need details about who did NOT help get the situation rectified in order to take action.

I think anyone who does not enforce the smoking rules, especially on verandas, ought to be fired.

On the floor with jancruz!

You guys are too funny...

On our cruise, fortunately, nobody smoked in their cabins near us.

It seemed like on all of our other cruises on other lines, we always managed to wind up near smokers...it was great to be able to stand outside and not have to smell cigarette smoke.
