Diamond and Diamond+

Recommended Posts

I know Diamond and Diamond + is a frequent cruiser program, but how many cruises does one have to go on for these statuses? What perks does it get you besides a coupon book, and a gift basket?

This link explains the program.

Member Benefits & Cruise Rewards: Crown & Anchor Society | Royal Caribbean International - Royal Caribbean International

The points qualifying for each level are determined by total nights at sea. You recieve one point for each night at sea. Stateroom categories of Junior Suite and higher allow two points per night at sea.

80 points = Diamond, 175 points = Diamond +. But the program begins with your first cruise and there are levels before Diamond - all with varying benefits.

From your cruise history shown, if they are all 7 night cruises in a standard (non JS or higher) stateroom, you would have 21 points accured to date. (42 if in a JS or higher on each one). If you haven't joined the Crown & Anchor society yet, I would suggest calling them and doing so. They will credit your points retroactively. They can be reached through the RCI website.

as leaveitallbehind indicates you have (or should have) Crown & Anchor points based on the cruises in your history. two of those were before the program changed from credits to points (Jan 2011, IIRC)...because of the conversion formula, you may well have more points than leaveitallbehind guessed.

Being a Diamond Members allows you the use of the Diamond Lounge on those ships that have a Dedicated Diamond Lounge. Being Diamond Plus allows you the use of the Concierge Lounge as well. Both lounges offer the same amenities.

If you book a balcony you are eligible for Platinum~Emerald~Diamond~Diamond Plus~Pinnacle Club Balcony Discounts as of Jan. 21, 2011

Here is the RCCL's New C&A Conversion Table so you can figure out how many cruise points you actually have.

Thanks. I did join the Q and A club with my first cruise but never thought about it until I booked my third RCCL cruise.

Be sure your number is on your reservation. As you saw from the chart, though more modest there are some on board benefits for you. those benefits keep getting better if you continue to cruise with RCI.

For the ultimate in perks, it's Diamond or D+ in a suite. They pretty much let you drive the ship.

....not trying to pick and I think you meant it correctly, but it would be D+ or Suite. Each gives the "drive the ship" priveledges. D alone gives you the Diamond lounge (where available) and a nice set of perks, but combined with a suite gives you no more than the suite or D+ by themselves. But you are correct in what you meant - and it is nice.

diamond lounges are awesome

....yes they are - and on Oasis, it is an inside / outside type of arrangement with half of it as a balcony with tables and chairs that overlook the promenade. Very neat! Actually more enjoyable (with us) than the concierge lounge. We split time with both, stopping at the CL before (early) dinner as it was closer to the restaurants, then after dinner head to the DL, as it was closer to the shows. But as said, our preference was the DL.

I am D...When I sail in a suite, I am still glad I am D. I get the D discount. I also appreciate the coupon book with free photo and Internet time as well as drink and laundry discounts. Also appreciate the invitation to the Platinum and up event. I am looking forward to D+.

When you are D+/P and in a suite you get the best of both. You get all the perks for suite guests (Captain's cocktail party, etc.) and the CL. If you are D+/P you get the discounts and the choice of DL or CL. There are also tours that are sometimes offered to D+/P that are not offered to Suite guests.

if you are pinnacle, you do not have to book a suite to get all the PERKS.

Each and every time you cruise you get a gold sea pass card. even if you book an inside cabin on deck 2. gold card = all the perks. so cruise a lot and become pinnacle...:)

Thank you!

When I saw the word "statuses," it looked wrong so I had to look it up.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!:)

The plural of "status" is indeed "statuses."

Thanks for helping learn something new today!

Almost, but not quite. You must be in a suite to get the suite room service menus, free pressing service on formal night, and complimentary luggage valet. Some ships have officer cocktail parties for suite guests only.

Being able to order room service from the full dining room menu is one of the best perks!!!

So does or does not P get to order anything from the MDR menu? I'll probably never make it but just curious. I know P gets to go to Barefoot beach on Labadee, so my guess is they get ALL the gold card perks.

Wasn't aware of the free pressing and luggage valet perks for Pinnacle. Royal's website does not reflect this, nor does the coupon booket, but I would not be surprised if the website is not up to date.

Bob, here is the email that Betsy O'Rourke sent to Pinnacle Members on November 11, 2011 Note the footnotes also.

I hope you share my enthusiasm for this change. I look forward to seeing you onboard again soon. Happy sailing!

Thanks Patti, I think I missed this because we were on the Voyager TA then.

So it looks like PC members get all suite benefits except ordering the full menus from room service?
