There are several of us from C.C. meeting in the Viking Lounge at 2:30 if you can make it. Besides Marc, there is another young lady, I (Denise) will be with my BFF Jayne. We are tall blondes. Come meet us!

Hi Daghis

I can confirm that you have a ship to sailaway on later today. Sat at home here in the UK watching the new Miami port webcam and Majesty is just about to spin around in the turning area before docking It's 11:25 am here 06:25 in Miami.

I would assume she will be tied up for about 06:45. Have a great cruise. We will be on her next January, so will be interested to hear how she is.

Looks like you have the company of Norwegian Sky and Carnival Imagination also tied up.

Regards.

Paul

Well, here we are finishing up everything in the hotel, getting ready to depart.

I don't have very high ratings for this Embassy Suites. Although the hotel itself is nice, the noise from the airplanes coming in for landing at Miami International Airport were a bit less conducive to sleep than I would have preferred. Fortunately, though, I'm used to not sleeping well before cruising, usually due to pre-embarkation excitement.

Breakfast was good. I like Embassy Suites' complimentary breakfast and this morning's was no exception.

I am glad that I brought my GPS with me as it was very useful for navigating the streets once we got off the freeway. Although the hotel is conveniently located near the freeway, it's a little bit tricky to get to unless you're otherwise familiar with the roads here.

Soon we'll be onboard! I've got those pre-cruising jitters in my stomach. I always enjoy that feeling. :)

We are hanging out in our cabin for the moment. I was surprised to find that I can get a good Wi-Fi signal here. I'm using 3G now, though.

We had lunch in the Compass Deli. I was disappointed that they didn't have any dessert crepes. I was really looking forward to having one today. They said that they'd have them available tomorrow, so I'll just head on back there then!

We wandered around the ship for a bit, hanging out a bit in Spectrum and in the Schooner Bar. I saw the Coke Freestyle machines up by Sorrento's and will be using them later now that I have my soda mug with me.

We are going to go to the Explorations desk to inquire about a cabana/ette for Coco Cay. It might be nice to have a place to chill that's a bit out of the sun tomorrow.

When we got to our cabin, in addition to finding the usual assortment of Crown & Anchor notes, I also had a letter from the casino host onboard welcoming me since I'm a Club Royale member. She even included a couple chocolate casino chips.

The cabin is quite nice. I like the unusual arrangement. I'm in 6506, which if you look on the deck plan you'll see that it's sort of L-shaped... with a bend in it. I'll take photos later on and share them as well. We have this cabin booked for the Monarch in October, so this is a great opportunity to check out the cabin and make sure we like it.

I've used these locally as a few locations around south Florida have them. They are so much fun. So having unlimited access will be a lot of fun. I usually don't buy the soda cups or packages but I will have to now.

If you can try and move up to deck 9 for your next cruise. They are larger rooms. That's what I currently have booked for my cruise following yours.

Sorry to hear that. I book Embassy Suites for our pre-Majesty in November. They do offer a package for cruisers to take them to the pier.

You should eschew the cabanas for the hammocks on around the back. They are under palm trees, secluded and wonderful. Some of those cabanas are too small and closed in so you don't get those wonderful breezes very well. Try the back side past the sports beach. You'll love those hammocks and make sure you get there early!

Here's a pic on this thread: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1361338&page=3

The caba nette looks pretty worth the money though.
