umbertsmum Posted July 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2012 Hi, having added a 3 day mini-cruise to a 7 day previuosly booked cruise, we are due to dismabark from one cruise and then re- embark for another on the Grand on the same day. We may have to change cabins too (awaiting assignment for the second segment) We have previoulsy only done this on a B2B in the Caribbean in the same cabin. Has anyone any experince of this and able to give advice on the process?
Cruiserkenn Posted July 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2012 I have found the customer service desk to be very helpful concerning B2B arrangements. Talk to them onboard. It might also be a good idea to notify Princess, in advance, that this will be a B2B cruise. Best wishes and bon voyage.

Rare TracieABD Posted July 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2012 From what I have read on here, if you have to change cabins, that morning a steward will show up in your cabin with a rolling cart to move your items. You don't even have to take stuff off of the hangers...:)
Alessandrina Posted July 29, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 29, 2012 During the first cruise, you will receive a letter with instructions on how to proceed, with an In-Transit passenger card. The morning of the turnaround, you will go to one of the Dining Rooms to punch out your old cruise card and receive your new cruise card. You may then step off the ship in Southampton or choose to remain onboard. Cheers.
Pia1913 Posted July 29, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 29, 2012 We just did this on the CB on July 1st. And we changed cabins too. Our new cruise cards were sent to the cabin the night before and when we came back from breakfast there was a luggage handler waiting outside the old cabin with a trolley to transfer us to the new cabin. We were moved and all in place in our new home by 9:30. At 9:45 we punched out with our old cards and in with the new cards and new photos were taken right there. It was the Island diningroom. We chose not to get off the ship at all on turnaround day. It was Sunday, we had enough wine and everything was closed anyway.

cnd crsr Posted July 29, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 29, 2012 If you choose to go ashore in Southampton, be sure to ask what line you will be in with your IN TRANSIT CARD when you want to embark again. When we were there in the spring, several B2B passengers got in the line with all the new passengers and had a very long wait to get back on the ship. We went through with no problem. Have a great cruise.

skf Posted July 29, 2012 #11 Share Posted July 29, 2012 It seems nice that in UK you can choose to stay or go as you please. In US ports you have to go ashore even if you have nowhere to go.

That's not true. If you have to go ashore, you only stay off for a little while and if you're not going anywhere, you stay segregated in one area. You are able to get back on before the new passengers.
