After years of cruising with Celebrity, I have found Cruise Critic boards. And, boy have I had fun reading the "threads". Didn't know that tipping was such a volatile issue, doesn't seem like that much money for such a good time.

Want to put my two cents into the Elite Plus Issue... Yes, add the category, use the RCCL formula and have fun fielding the telephone calls.

Enjoy everyday... It could be your last.

We found CC in time for our second cruise which made the holiday so much better. Having the extra knowledge from a pool of experience certainly helps, but for us it is meeting fellow cruisers on the rollcalls, for up to two years prior to the cruise, that makes the meeting so much more special and enhances the cruise itself. They become long term friends.:D

I first found CC in '06 while researching reviews for a cruise and have been an active member ever since. It's a wonderful tool for great information, as well as for some very entertaining reading--especially those hot button topics that some people get very, uh, shall I say vocal, about;):)

But, without exception, the best part is CC is the wonderful people we have met, the important and money-saving tips we have learned, and welcoming newbies to the world of CC. I am always happy to share information, and to help make a newbie's first cruise experience a great experience.

So, to the OP, Welcome! If you have a cruise booked, be sure to check out your sailing's Roll Call!

Certainly have to agree with all you have said, I have been a member for around 5 years but started a new name back in April to make it easier for friends and so it aligns with several other forum sites and social media forums.

YES!! Lots of great ideas and people are here on these boards and they are happy to help. Don't be shy!! The only "dumb" question is the one you don't ask. Keep researching and planning. It will be very helpful for when you do your actual trip and that experience.

Agree on it being important to enjoy and experience each day fully and actively.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Did a June 7-19, 2011, Solstice cruise from Barcelona that had stops in Villefranche, ports near Pisa and Rome, Naples, Kotor, Venice and Dubrovnik. Enjoyed great weather and a wonderful trip. Dozens of wonderful visuals with key highlights, tips, comments, etc., on these postings. We are now at 95,632 views for this live/blog re-cap on our first sailing with Celebrity and much on wonderful Barcelona. Check these postings and added info at:

Love your attitude. Congrats on finding CC.

Just think of all you and Us two have had time to do before you found CC!!

It truly is addicting.

It certainly is addictive, and when you become an organiser of some description on a rollcall, it almost becomes a habit.:D

I like your philosophy on life, and try to live by it everyday as well!

We did not discover CC until our second cruise was cancelled and I was trying to find out why. It was just dumb luck that put me on Celebrity for our first cruise, but we have loved them ever since. I really enjoy the participating in the roll calls on CC, and then making friends on board, some of whom remain good friends after the cruise. It is a great way to organise private tours - on our last Christmas cruise I organised 3, and while I was a bit nervous, everyone loved them and had a great time.

MicCanberra, we may have to get together for dinner sometime!
