mrsrosa Posted August 17, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2012 I am trying to figure out this program. So this is what I understand: After your first cruise you can apply. You get points for each night on a cruise (ie 7 points for a 7 night cruise). I am doing a back to back to Alaska. So on my second cruise I can apply for C&A right? What level does that make me? Gold? And what are the points used for? I saw that there is a benefit of buy one get one free for a drink (wine, soda etc). Do I need to use points for that? Any other info about C&A would be appreciated. Thanks :)

See the Loyalty Ambassador on the second cruise of your B2B and they will likely give you a Gold coupon book. The coupon book is where you find the BOGO drink coupon. The points earned for each night set your level in C&A, and you get more benefits as your level increases. Here's a link to an explanation: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/cas/benefitsLoggedout.do At Platinum (30 points) you start receiving discounts off of balcony staterooms. Dem920 Posted August 17, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Once you sail on your first cruise, visit the loyalty ambassader on-board. they will give you a coupon book that the Gold Crown and Anchor guests get in their cabin. Officially it probably takes 6 weeks to apply which will be too late for your second sailing, but if you visit the oyalty ambassador on the ship they should be able to help you enroll and get you the coupon booklet. It has a variety of coupons in it and yes I think one is for bogo drink specials. I get the Diamond coupon booklet (80 nights of sialing), so my coupons are different. The more nights you sail, the higher your staus is. Here is a link to the FAQ page of the Crown & Anchor page: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/customersupport/faq/subject.do?snav=2&faqSubjectName=Crown+%26+Anchor+Society&faqSubjectId=340&pnav=5 Enjoy your first and second RCCL cruises. We are doing Alaska next Summer. T
Rare orville99 Posted August 17, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2012 You can apply while on your first leg. Just stop down to the Loyalty Ambassador (Future Cruise) desk. That way, you will be gold when you start the second week. You get a coupon book with % off on various things you buy on board (like drinks, merchandise, etc). The more you cruise the better the books get. If you go out to RCL's C&A website, all of teh benefits (by category) are listed. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/cas
39august Posted August 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Why not join before your cruise by just calling RCI C&A number? Then your gold coupon book will be waiting for you in your cabin. And you should get one for each week of your B2B. If not, ask the LA for one the second week. Points accumulate to reach certain levels in the C&A Sociaty. The higher your level, the better benefits in your coupon book and other benefits. My favorite benefit is the balcony/suite discount starting when you reach Platinum level. Another good one is the free internet minutes which I think start at the Diamond level. Also at Diamond you get enrty to the Diamond "event" held nightly with free wine, champagn and soda and some sort of snack. On ships with a Diamond Lounge (and these are being added to all ships during their scheduled "revitalizations") there are free mixed drinks and hot and cold appetizers as well as beer, wine, soda and champagne. All benefits for each level are listed on the RCI website.

Thanks :) You GET points for sailing on RCI (1 point per night, 2 points if you stay in a suite) you don't USE/SPEND points. The points you accumulate move you up into higher C&A levels. They are not like frequent flyer points that you use to get stuff. Why not join before your cruise by just calling RCI C&A number? Then your gold coupon book will be waiting for you in your cabin. I thought that you could not do this? Had to wait til you sailed (or at least were on the ship) to sign up for C&A. We tried to sign our kids up for C&A before their first cruise (we were Gold members) and were told (after calling twice and talking with 2 different agents) that they needed to sign up after they sailed--could not do it before. Had to wait til you sailed (or at least were on the ship) to sign up for C&A. ... The only way I know of to sign up for C&A before the first Royal cruise is if you have at least 5 credits on Celebrity. Then you can call C&A and they will give you a C&A number over the phone based on your Celebrity Captain's Club level.
spookwife Posted August 17, 2012 #9 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Why not join before your cruise by just calling RCI C&A number? Then your gold coupon book will be waiting for you in your cabin. . incorrect. ponts awarded RETROACTIVELY at the end of the cruise. it can take a few weeks for them to actually hit your account, too. In the OP's case they will not be eligible for a coupon book until the second leg of their B2B. we signed up for C&A during our first cruise when we went down to book another while still on board. had to finally call them up as about 6 weeks went by and no email or snail mail with our number, but I was wanting to add our C&A number to our 2 booked cruises. got on the phone and found out our numbers very quickly and got a nice basic understanding of how things worked( although no more info that is readily available on the website)
TEXASMUNK Posted August 17, 2012 #10 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Soome folks mentioned "stopping by" Because you get reduced deposits for buy while onboard your next cruise...the LA is usually VERY busy so stopping by may be tough as the week goes on.......so get there early in your cruise..... ThanksYou do not get the SAME benefits, but they are roughly equivalent [eg you get free drinks from 5-8:30 in RCI Diamond Lounges every evening, but only free wine and beer on RCI ships with Diamond Events; all Celebrity ships have free drinks in their Elite Lounge but only from 5-7 and not the first night of cruise, however Celebrity also offers free Bloody Marys etc in the morning in the Elite Lounge; more free internet and more free laundry on Celebrity] Not same, but which is better depends on your perspective. lady_cruiser Posted August 18, 2012 #17 Share Posted August 18, 2012 We just made Diamond Level (after years of sailing on Royal) after debarking our last cruise. Because of our level we recieved a $200 discount on our upcoming cruise. You also get double the reward points if you sail in a Jr. Suite or higher category which gets you to the next level that much quicker.
