bobpell Posted September 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2012 How can I determine which ship is scheduled to go under the knife and when? Thanks Bob
jtl513 Posted September 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2012 This info used to show up on the Destination Calendar as "under construction", but unfortunately they've changed the format of that and the dry-docks no longer show there. From a pre-change copy I can tell you that The Nieuw A will dry-dock in late Apr (22nd to 29th by one report), the Noordam Feb 9th to 17th, and the Statendam in early January (I believe 5th to 17th) For the past couple of years member trvlcrzy has posted a list right around this time of year that shows all the dry-docks and charters known at that point, so keep watching for that. If you have another ship in mind, maybe Copper10-8/John will be able to tell you if you tell him which ship.

Himself Posted September 15, 2012 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2012 Drydock does not mean extreme make-over as like what happened to the Veendam and the Rotterdam. One never used to hear of complaints about the Veendam until its extreme makeover of a couple of years ago.
kangforpres Posted September 15, 2012 #9 Share Posted September 15, 2012 Amsterdam in D-D at SF from 12-4 to 12-18-13 makes sense since We are on it starting 12-18 in SF for a Panama Canal repositioning. SF has a languishing shipbuilding industry that needs the work. They did the emergancy repairs on the Princess ship last year after it caught fire off of MX. I believe Westerdam was in dry dock in April 2012 and Zaandam in August 2012 Eurodam, Maasdam, Veendam and Volendam were in 2011. I don't know when their next dry dock is scheduled. indokiwi Posted September 16, 2012 #15 Share Posted September 16, 2012 I believe Westerdam was in dry dock in April 2012 and Zaandam in August 2012 Nope, HAL canceled the Zaandam dry dock (there is another thread about that on this forum) and moved it to next year in October before she starts to do South America runs. Could this be because of drydock arrangement? Thanks
