EPIC - did you miss having a show every night?

I know everyone keeps posting about how much there is to do and that it is impossible to see/do it all but if we see Blue Man one night and Legends one night, what will we do the rest of the nights? We've always enjoyed the nightly shows and planned dinners so that we didn't miss any of them but since there isn't a show on Epic, what did you do each night? Let me preface this question with a few notes: we do not enjoy dancing, we do not enjoy blues music, we are not interested in cirque show, drinking for the sake of getting drunk is not an activity for us, we do not enjoy the casino. Okay, that makes us sound boring, but we're really not. ;)

One thing about the Epic is that I NEVER felt like there wasn't something to do. You almost have to have a lot going on in order to keep people from the feeling of being overcrowded on such a large vessel.

I noticed a good sized list of what you don't like. Unfortuanately, nobody can make a schedule that keeps everybody happy. Perhaps the size of your list is an indicator that you may want to consider alternative vacation options. Of course you could always try some of the alternative activites or even seek out other with similar tastes (your Roll Call is a good place) and schedule some of your own activities.

Or . . . you could simply do nothing. It is a vacation after all! ;)

We have Blue Man planned one night, Legends Another, Second City on Another. We haven't booked the Cirque dinner because we heard we had to line up "45 minutes in advance" - not my thing on vacation. We figure that the White Hot will be on night 6. We aren't big partiers either but like to go see it. I have dinners we want to do and I am a little worried we won't get it all fit in.

There was a magician/comedian show and several Second City Improv shows. There was also a "Legends Unplugged" in the MDR around 9:00. Nice to eat dinner and stay for that...

We LOVED Howl at the Moon. Stayed two nights until it closed down ..... would have gone the third night but we were just too tired. There were a lot of songs we knew and we're in our 60's. Neither one of us can carry a tune but some of the people around us couldn't either and we had a blast singing along. We did some drinking but didn't get drunk and didn't feel harassed by the bartenders to order more than we wanted.

You said you weren't interested in the Cirque show, too bad because we really enjoyed it.

Epic has a nice spa. We bought passes but hardly used them because there was so much else to do. Check it out when you board and see if that is something that would interest you.

Don't know if they still do the Abba tribute by the big screen in the adult deck area. Did it on our cruise and we enjoyed it.

They did both FABBA (Fabulous ABBA) and the Beatles in the Adult area on the Sept 5th sailing and they were huge hits. It was nice after dinner just sitting in the adult area on the back of the ship, waiting for those shows. The area gets crowded so if you get there early, you get a seat.

I don't really remember having to go extra early to the Cirque show, but it was one of our favorite things on the EPIC.

"Howl at the Moon" was LOADS of fun. A must do for sure. Had it not been for "Howl", I would've definitely missed having something to do every night.

The ice bar is interesting, but it won't take up more than 15-20 minutes of your time -- it's COLD in there!!!

Are you kidding me? Epic has way too much entertainment and we could not even see all the shows.

Blue Man Group

Cirque Dreams

Second City (multiple shows, all different plus adult show)

Nick shows for kids

Legends in Concert

Legends unplugged in the Manhattan Room

Fat Cats Blues band live shows

Magician in the tent

Howl at the Moon most nights

Ice Bar

White Hot Party

Fabba - tribute to Abba in Spic H20

Plus all the shows in Bliss

And this is just off the top of my head. Epic has entertainment stacked. There are multiple shows every night. Just too much to see and do.

Agree with the posters that say the entertainment is plentiful. Might I also add that I have found that several of the more traditional nightly shows aren't even worth attending. I'd rather have the options that Epic offers than sit and watch a poorly done show. I could go where my mood takes me.

Thanks everyone for the tips and reminders about how much there is to do. We will be skipping all the Nick shows as we're traveling without our kids and want to avoid other kids!

I know many recommend the Cirque show but we saw a cirque de soleil (spelling?) in Orlando and it is NOT our thing.

We love the wine, martini, margarita tastings but those are never in the evenings. They've always been like 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Can anyone share more details about Howl at the Moon? What type of music is that generally?

Howl at the Moon was the big surprise for me. I found myself there everynight before heading back to the cabin. They take requests and play everything and everything. You just drink and sing along to oldies, sing along favorites, and not so oldies and even current hits.

Very fun

I don't think you sound so boring, you sound like myself and DH. We saw Blue Man & Legends, Cirque was better than expected, Howl at the Moon, Second City, (went to see second city maybe 3 times,) and the CD game shows. We stayed pretty busy, and enjoy every minute. :D (I may be strange, however I really don't like getting drunk, therefore I don't drink much)

Please don't skip the Cirque dinner for that reason. If you aren't all that picky where your seats are you can wait until just before the show to arrive. People who line up early are ones that want to ensure they have the very best, close up seats or ones that they somewhat pick themselves. There aren't really any super bad seats in the house, in my opinion. It's a small theatre. If you pay for the premium seats in advance, you're certainly going to get good seats even if you show up 5 minutes before it starts. However, if you're a large party then you might not all sit together, I suppose.

I appreciate the OP for starting this thread.

We are going on the Breakaway and understand that the entertainment is going to organized much like the Epic where there are the two shows (Blue Man and Legends in Concert on the Epcic and Rock of Ages and one other on the Breakaway) in the main theater.

My wife and I were just talking earlier today about what we will do the other nights when we are not seeing the two "headline" shows. This has been very helpful.

Does anyone have a full week's worth of Freestyle Dailys from the Epic? I am curious to see how the spread the various activies through the week. I know Breakaway may be dyifferent from the Epic -and even week to week things might change - but this will give me a good idea.

Thanks,

Brad

Howl at the Moon (we went back to this 3x we enjoyed it so much), Second City and the comedian are more options.

OP, as much as you say you aren't 'blues' people, please please please go and see Slam Allen (I hope he is on your cruise). His show was one of the hi-lites of my cruise.

I am far from a blues person myself but he is just that good.

Don't miss him, if you get the chance:D
