Canaletto on Formal Night

Since Canaletto is actually in the Lido dining room, do you need to comply to the dress code if you dine in the Canaletto on formal night?

No, you do not have to go Formal in Canaletto. But you do have to comply with the below from the HAL website

 

"T-shirts, swimsuits, tank tops and shorts are not allowed in the restaurants or public areas during the evening hours"

no - it is in the Lido - so you do not need to dress formally

We have walked by the Canaletto on formal nights on various ships.

We saw people dressed formally and people dressed smart casual since the Canaletto is either at the end of begining of the Lido buffet area.

When we were on the Noordam I wore jeans and a dress shirt and there was not a problem.

The Lido is probably one of the most casual places on the ship. Dress as you feel comfortable.

When we tried to make reservations on the Eurodam through the conceirge because we didn't want to dress up, they told us it was formal, too. But they obviously don't enforce it.
