Gambling on Carnival or RCI? Not sure which one

My girlfriend and I are planning a cruise. I like Carnival due to cost, she wants RCI Oasis or Allure due to 450 slots versus 185 on Carnival Breeze. She is a really big gambler and I don't know if it is worth it to pay and addition $500 just to get on a ship with more slots? They are both 7 day cruises, going from Miami or Ft Lauderdale. I am paying for both of us. Help, What would you do??

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO debbieee: Go on whichever one has the better itinerary. Also, which one is easier for you to get to the departure point. However, I have been on both lines. In my experience, Carnival has the better food and service. Also, Carnival will probably give you a better price.[/size]

Have you considered the NCL Epic ? This ship has 340 slots, plus if your GF is a big slot player she will likely do pretty well with getting some onboard comps and very possibly a future comped cruise. Pricewise it is probably a little more than Carnival and a little less than RCI.

Don't Allure and Oasis support much larger passenger loads? The ratio of machines per person is probably similar. Just looked it up. Assuming both ships were full, there is a machine for every 12 pax on Allure and a machine for every 19 pax on Dream. Yes, I'm an engineer...

Debbieee - You have several factors - RCCL will be a nicer overall ship but I understand what she means by wanting a nicer or bigger casino experience. Like the others I suggest look at the itinerary the cabin you want etc. If that doesn't help - maybe look at going through a casino marketing company to book. They will likely be able to get you a deep discount for the cruise itself if she is a gambler. That's what I do but my main motivation is the type of cabin and then the casino. I usually am able to get at least 30% off and sometimes more. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks! Hans

For Gambling only:

Carnival - I drank for free on my last 2 cruises + some extras.

RC - My last cruise I got 3 free drinks from the CH. She just walked around on 2 diff. nights and randomly handed them out.

On all my other RC cruises nothing.

So I would go with Carnival if gambling was the only consideration.
