girlscruise2011 Posted December 9, 2012 #26 Share Posted December 9, 2012 On the Liberty I went to the Steakhouse for the first time. I had the surf & turf and it was delicious. My husband had the boneless ribeye and it was good but on the fatty side. I know, ribeye does come that way sometimes so he didn't complain or ask for another piece. I enjoyed the Steakhouse and would definately go again.
ZoeyVictoria Posted December 9, 2012 #27 Share Posted December 9, 2012 The mac and cheese that is served with the chicken breast can be substituted for potatoes when you order a steak. It was wonderful (as was everything else).
Valmcp Posted December 9, 2012 #28 Share Posted December 9, 2012 My husband had the surf and turf and was very disappointed . HALF of a split lobster tail and a filet that he sent back because it had a think piece a grizzle right through the center. I had the lamb chops and they were awesome! Our friends both raved about their Chilean sea bass as well. We always go to the steakhouse at least twice when we cruise. This past cruise we went once because the service was not up to usual standards.Very ill-timed courses and a bored/annoyed waiter. We didn't complain but we didn't return. carolinaviking71208 Posted December 9, 2012 #30 Share Posted December 9, 2012 Just off the Valor today. I ate twice at the steakhouse. I've gotta put my votes in for the lobster bisque and the five spice ribeye. But both meals were wonderful. lola61 Posted December 9, 2012 #32 Share Posted December 9, 2012 Ribeye, and lobster bisque is my fave too. Will be there on 1/17 for my birthday, can't wait :D
cruisecrazy82 Posted December 9, 2012 #33 Share Posted December 9, 2012 My hubby's fave has to be the ribeye hands down along with the chocolate sampler. He gets it every time we dine there. And for me, I have had a few different choices and honestly never been disappointed with anything I have chosen! In October on the Pride, I had the Lobster Ravioli for the first time and it was very very good! Looking forward to going again in May on the Glory :D
nybumpkin Posted December 9, 2012 #34 Share Posted December 9, 2012 Appetizer - The lobster bisque is wonderful. Only problem is, it's filling. The last few times we've gone I've ordered the beef carpaccio or tuna tartare. I've never had a problem with the carpaccio being too thick. Salad - I'm another fan of the spinach salad. DH loves the Caesar salad. Entree - Love the filet mignon and usually pair it with mashed potatoes. There are enough other veggies on the plate like the mushrooms that I don't see the need to order other sides. And anyway I'm saving room for... Dessert - Chocolate sampler, hands down. Going back to the beginning of my post, if it wasn't for anticipating the chocolate sampler I'd be ordering the lobster bisque more often.:D

dabear99211 Posted December 10, 2012 #40 Share Posted December 10, 2012 We had it when we were on the Magic. It was just OK- Sliced a little too thick for our taste. I don't think I would get it again. I have had the beef carpaccio many times, never have I been unhappy, I don't know how they could slice it any thinner, you could almost see through it. thunter1224 Posted December 10, 2012 #42 Share Posted December 10, 2012 There was not one thing that we did not love at the meal.. had the surf & turf,, My DGF was licking the bowl of Yukon gold mashed potatos w/ wasabi... not enought to make it spicey, but so good... we were able to get that recipe when we did the chefs table  and if you go on the first night of your cruise you get a free bottle of wine with dinner.... NOLA MOM Posted December 11, 2012 #44 Share Posted December 11, 2012 The cheesecake slice was huge! MIL loved her lobster bisque. Son loved escargot. Hubby loved Onion Soup. I wasn't crazy about Caesar salad, but enjoyed my 1/2 lobster & filet (butterflied).

tonit964 Posted December 11, 2012 #46 Share Posted December 11, 2012 Don't they have lamb on the menu? My fiancé and I will be eating there the first night on our next cruise and he absolutely loves lamb. We were on the Splendor over Thanksgiving and DH had the lamb chops. He said they were delish! Rottweiler Puppy Posted December 11, 2012 #47 Share Posted December 11, 2012 I didn't have the best food experience but the service was the best part, even if it was amateurish. If I had to pick a food item it might be the mushroom cappuccino they sent out. Tiny but interesting. The steak was no better then a regular chain place IMHO and no porterhouse available. Not sure I would pay $30 again let alone $35. I tried the highly recommended spiced ribeye but they refused to cook it medium rare and it did not taste aged at all. Dont let my experience stop you though. Just p[assing alony my favorite part of it with my experience. Still go for it, others have had better experiences and its worth trying once at least. Snostar Posted December 11, 2012 #48 Share Posted December 11, 2012 Could someone tell me what's in the chocolate sampler? I am not a fan of dark chocolate or many chocolate covered fruits. I recently saw a menu for Scarlett's on Valor and didn't see it listed. Also, while I am here what is the minimum age? My son is twelve, thanks! scgamecock Posted December 11, 2012 #49 Share Posted December 11, 2012 I'm eagerly anticipating going to the steakhouse on my next cruise. Everything on the menu looks wonderful so I am looking for suggestions, to help narrow it down :) I have tried everything on the steakhouse menu now and my favorite is the 18 oz Cowboy Ribeye. They cooked it to perfection on Breeze last week. One of the best steaks I have ever had. For something different, the lobster ravioli was excellent. My friend always raves over the surf & turf. I do not like the salads in the steakhouse. They give you a huge chunk of lettuce and you have to cut it up. Not bad, but just not as good to me as the MDR salads. Tbay-eh Posted December 11, 2012 #50 Share Posted December 11, 2012 Could someone tell me what's in the chocolate sampler? I am not a fan of dark chocolate or many chocolate covered fruits. I recently saw a menu for Scarlett's on Valor and didn't see it listed. Also, while I am here what is the minimum age? My son is twelve, thanks! it is awesome - there are 3 separate chocolate type dishes - Bittersweet Chocolate Cake, Banana Pannacotta Tiramisu and Chocolate Marquise. You can find a Steakhouse Menu on the Valor's site and it should be listed. There is absolutely no age limit although I highly recommend if a child cannot site for 1 1/2 to 2 hours not to put them through it - at 12 I am sure your son will be okay
