Dayenu Posted March 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2013 I tried to post a reply to somebody's question as "I hope so" all in capitals, but after clicking "submit" my line converted to lower case. Just so you know :p
Bonnie J. Posted March 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2013 When you use all capitols it may be considered yelling!
Laurie S. Posted March 15, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 15, 2013 Yep, it always does that, even you're using initials. It's a PITA. ;) Hah, fooled it! :)

Just so you know :p Interesting observation -- it looks like it converts them to lower case if you type the entire message in caps, but when you use a mixture of CAPS and lower case, IT LEAVES THEM ALONE. Also just noticed that Dayenu starts with a capital D in the original post, but when I quoted it, the D got changed to lower case.

Rare Hlitner Posted March 15, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2013 I think many folks just do not know the old posting protocol (used internationally) that posting in CAPS is considered shouting and rude. There are more and more people that are joining the online community and they just need a little time to get themselves educated :) Hank

Cruisin' Chick Posted March 16, 2013 #10 Share Posted March 16, 2013 I love it (NOT) when people gently try to inform someone's post is basically unreadable because of the font, type color, or run-on sentences/paragraphs...and the OP doesn't "get it." NOW! :D Maybe if I keep practicing enough ........................ Hey, it seems to be working now. Glad I got to return it to you, whew! (mopping brow) I was getting frightened because you sounded really angry there. :D But now I am wondering what made it happen the last time. varoo Posted March 17, 2013 #12 Share Posted March 17, 2013 I tried to post a reply to somebody's question as "I hope so" all in capitals, but after clicking "submit" my line converted to lower case. Just so you know :p It kept bugging me, wondering what had happened, so I kept playing around with it trying to figure it out. The first time I quoted your original message, I had tried typing a reply all in caps and did a preview to see how it would look. I did not notice it, but at that point, it converted your entire message that I had quoted to lower case as well as converting my reply all in caps to lower case. Will try to replicate it again next in another message. Some strange stuff going on here.
Rare broberts Posted March 17, 2013 #13 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Funny, i was sure i'd seen entire posts all caps. Edit: As you may note the conversion isn't very smart - initially I simply posted the first sentence in all caps.

Just so you know :p ok, i am typing this reply all in caps to see if it will again convert your entire quoted message to lower case when it converts my reply in caps to lower case. i apologize in advance for once again stealing your capital d, but hope you will find it in your heart to forgive me as i promise to return it the next time i quote a message of yours. Looking at it again and adding -- Wait a minute -- How come it left the capital J in your quoted message when it converted the other capitals to lower case? So still no justification for "SHOUTING." If you need help in increasing the size of the fonts (when you read) just post the device/operating system here and we will try to give you some assistance :) Hank

Those with vision challenges generally find larger font sizes and surrounding white space contribute far more to readability than all caps. Typeface and color can also made a difference. To change the font size click on the number in the field to the right of the type face name. This text for instance is size 7.
