MMFM3 Posted April 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2013 Traveling to Bermuda the end of June of the new NCL Breakaway. We are all very excited. Never been to Bermuda and we are looking to just veg out on the beach. Does anyone know of a beach that is close to King Wharf's dock that has restrooms, chairs and umbrella rentals??? Need a family friendly spot. We are a large group aging from 14-71. :)

blue_water Posted April 23, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Horseshoe Bay is the most popular beach on Bermuda and therefore can get fairly crowded but it is the best beach fitting your requirements. Take a look at previous posts here and Google the many helpful Bermuda sites like this one - http://www.bermuda-attractions.com/bermuda_000092.htm You'll find a wealth of information to help you get a good picture of the island and the beaches. For example we prefer Warwick Long Bay and Jobson's Cove which are 1 or 2 bus stops beyond HSB. But there are only restrooms and perhaps a vendor wagon, none of the other amenities you desire are there. Of course that's why it's much quieter and our favorite spot! ;) But Horseshoe is your beach of choice. If you want a more upscale experience take a look at day passes from the Elbow Beach resort. http://www.mandarinoriental.com/bermuda/ You can e-mail them at - ebbda-concierge@mohg.com The buses are an excellent mode of transport but you may also want to hire a taxi or a private guide for some of your group (perhaps the older folks if they want more comfort). If you bus to HSB it's quite a long walk from the bus stop to the beach but there is a van/wagon there that will take you down and back for a small fee. have a great time in Bermuda! blue_water Posted April 23, 2013 #8 Share Posted April 23, 2013 MMFM3 - In case you or anyone else is interested in a day pass at the Elbow beach resort here is the information from the resort on their day pass options. The 1st option is at their resort, while the 2nd option is at the public section of the beach. The day pass that we offer is $495.00 which is a Spa Cabana out looking the pool and it comes with towels, full mini bar, fruit platter and more you can have lunch at Mickey’s at the beach and use the beach for 6 people. The other would be to rent a chair / umbrella on the public side for $65.00 and bring your own towel.

Quick questions...do you know if the the $65 fee is per person? I'm going to Bermuda in July with a party of between 5 to 7 so it might be much cheaper to go "'high end"! Also, does the more expensive pass include pool use or just pool view? Thanks again :)
blue_water Posted April 24, 2013 #10 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Sorry can't answer those questions as we haven't used their pass but they are very quick to respond at the ebba concierge e-mail above. I assume the $65 fee is per person but that is very high so you'd better ask them! Good luck [EDIT] very nice beach there by the way!
njhorseman Posted April 24, 2013 #11 Share Posted April 24, 2013 You might want to consider the Coco Reef Resort, which has a $49 per person day pass that includes lunch. (you don't get a private cabana like you do at Elbow Beach for $495...but the Elbow Beach price doesn't include lunch).
