I have recently discovered packing cubes and packing envelopes, I love them. Everything is organized and arrives with minimal wrinkles. They also make it easy to redistribute between bags if you find one bag is over weight you can just move one cube to another bag.The slim cubes are great for small things like chargers, extra batteries etc.

I am looking on eBay for these and was wondering if there's a certain brand to look for?

Check out EBags on Amazon. I love mine and just bought a set for my sister for her birthday. They come in all different colors. Mine are the green and I love them. I use the large pod for pants/shorts/skirts, the mid size one for tops and the small for underwear. I put the pods directly in the closet when I get onboard. When I want to change, I just pull out a pod.

Then I can also separate clean from dirty on the way home.

Try eagle creek packits for the brand and look at Sierra trading post online, they often have them for a good price. I bought all of mine from them for less than the ebay asking price and less than ebags too.

I bought mine on ebay. They are ebags and less expensive than buying on the ebags web site. I love them for the same reasons other people have posted. I also start packing to go home by using the cubes and leave the luggage under the bed until I'm ready less struggle without the luggage to climb over.

Right now there are some weird patterns on sale on Amazon. I got a 3 piece ebags kit in 2 different patterns. One has gummy bears on it and the other one has bicycles all over it. I don't care what they look like, so I was fine with it! They were only $24.99 for all 3 bags! I'm taking the gummy bear set and DH gets the bicycles!

After the first several Caribbean cruises, my husband kept a list of what clothing he wore. He keeps that list in his suitcase and has followed it every time since and he never overpacks. This includes formal wear. I'm not sure a woman could do this (I always over pack!), but it works for him.

As for other items, a mini first aid kit with basic over the counter meds and flashlight are always on my list. Thank goodness for Kindles...great space savers.

Leave room in the suitcase for the duty free booze and souveniers!

If you are staying in an European Hotel before your cruise you may want to pack an inexpensive wash cloth in a ziplock baggie. It has been our experience that many European hotels, even very nice ones, do not have wash cloths available.

That is why my carry on's are almost empty so I can take some items from the checked luggage and put the booze in that space (well wrapped padded and in plastic bags)

I've attached a photo of a Belkin 3-Outlet Mini Travel Swivel Charger Surge Protector with Dual USB Ports, 5 Charging Outlets Total (1 AMP / 5 Watt) sold on Amazon for $14.94. It's must smaller than a power strip and you also have 2 USB ports. Saves space in your suitcase.

Help ... I have a luggage tag that is clear on one side and tel color on the other. I cut down the printed luggage tag to fot. All pertinent information is visible but only on one side. Will this be okay or cause potential problems? Thanks!

I think so long as it shows on one side, you should be okay.

A lanyard or wrist band. You ask them to punch a hole in your cruise card. Then wear it around your neck or wrist band. Much easier than putting it in your pocket to get lost.

Alarm clock. There is none in your stateroom.

Ditto on that Belkin device, but get the 2.1amp, 10 Watts if you want to charge larger things like an iPad.

A question about this device -- the ones I see on Amazon looks like a 'timer' plugs right into the wall -- as I remember the outlets they are close to the counter top - have you used this item on a ship and does it fit in the wall outlet?

I ask because I have a timer that only goes in one way and blocks the other half of the outlet and it only fits in certain locations ...

thanks for any other info you may have on this ---

A sturdy frig magnet - clip type - use on the wall to hold all your daily reminders & paperwork.

Some one mentioned getting a hole punched in your card - get that at the casino - when it opens > after sailing - they will also have a lanyard - but those real stretchie ones for use in the slot machines --

Are you asking for the cruise or the airline--regarding the teal tag and only one side visible --

for the cruise - they are not going to spend alot of time reading your tag -- you need to have your location / section as visible as possible - that is how they sort it -

.................it goes to the section of the ship

.................then someone else gets it to the floor

.................then the room --

my guess is that if they dont see it right away - they move it to the side till all other bags are handled - then they have the time -- you may have to locate it by the pursers desk later on after sailing -

the airline doesnt need any info till they lose your bag !! Assuming you aren't carrying anything that raises a flag -- if they want to find you AT the airport - they will find you !!!
