DavidIW Posted June 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2013 Seems an odd question when we haven't been on our cruise yet but how are the times for disembarkation allotted? We are travelling on IOS in a GS. We are hoping for the earliest time possible as we have a long drive. Thanks for any info you can give. golfer1966 Posted June 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2013 Im fairly certain they go by the times you use when you fill out your Set Sail Pass. For example, if you have an 11 am flight they will get you off in one of the early groups. I think they also go by status. Pinnacle and D+ get priority if they want. If you need early an early dissembarkment, you can also do express walk off, but you will need to carry all of your own luggage off the ship. leaveitallbehind Posted June 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2013 As you are in a GS, talk to the Concierge in the Concierge Lounge and they will arrange whatever you need.
PattyG12 Posted June 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2013 If you are able to handle your luggage on your own you could do the Express Departure and be among the first groups off the ship.
TEXASMUNK Posted June 10, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2013 DO NOT do self-Disembarkation!!!!! The Consierge will arrange for those passengers in suites to exit the ship as a group, usually about one hour after disembarkation begins. Example: Ship began disembarkation at 7:15am. We all met at Chops, had breakfast, Consierge got us up and out at 8:20am, we were in our vehicle and moving by 8:55am. Why not self-disembarkation? Because EVERY time we get off with the Consierge, we walk PAST the thousand or so folks who think they are getting off quickly! Our disembarkation usually takes 15 to 20 minutes...most of that time is grabbing a porter, getting in line and going through customs. We too have a bit of a drive from the port, BUT I will not revert to being my own sherpa at the end of a cruise when the option is being treated special one more time. 39august Posted June 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted June 10, 2013 On every ship, except Indy, when in a GS, we have been escorted off the ship as Texasmonk describes. If Raj is your concierge, you may not get this special treatment. He certainly didn't do anything on our Indy cruise. However, you can get luggage tags for as early as you want to debark from the concierge. I found Raj to be helpful in several ways, but a bit ignorant of suite perks. I wasn't sure if you had to choose a time before you board the ship or whilst you're on board. cb at sea Posted June 10, 2013 #9 Share Posted June 10, 2013 About halfway thru the cruise they will ask you to tell them if you have an early flight. Tell them you do. That way, you will be in one of the 1st groups off, even if you don't want to carry off all of your bags yourself!

Good plan, unfortunately we're sailing from Southampton and majority of passengers seem to be in car or train. Will have to see the concierge and hope we can get off early.
