Live From The Royal Princess

I don't see it regularly out, but I have seen it, so it may be something you have to ask for. Though, if you little one really loves it, you might just want to bring one to be sure.

I would not want to have to ask for it every time when you go to eat. They will get it for you, but it might take longer than your child is wiling to wait. I would buy the small single serve packs you see at restaurants so you won't have to carry around the jar of Skippy with you.

Hi Shogun, well done on bagging a chefs table, can't wait to hear your report.

Can anyone tell me if the laser shooting range has happened as I don't recall Dave or anybody mentioning it.

Many thanks for taking time out to answer our queries.

Some bathroom pics..

The bathroom it's self seems smaller def a struggle to get us both in there at the same time!! Although the shower seems to be bigger it seems more rectangular than other ships not sure if this made it feel bigger or if it actually is!!!

So far we have had no problem with noise from the corridor, we do have a double bed now though so were not against the wall.

We have 2 U.S sockets on the desk and one European, also there is one plug either side of the night stand, sorry haven't checked what type they are.

Dave, today has been cold and fairly windy and they have had the seating outside Facets and Crooners, so would expect them to be out all day.

Is that a seat in the shower? Thanks.

Couple of things - the coffee card is good for 15 punches for specialty coffees and I guess sundaes, etc. plus the free brewed coffee. You can carry it on to your next cruise but believe then you don't get the free brewed coffee then.

And, Princess had posted that trivia would be at the Live venue. Wondered about that because you need 6 seats (maximum) and a table for a team and if you can't move the chairs, then it would be extremely awkward to play.

Do hope they change the venue for trivia - it's my favorite "sport"!

Out of curiosity (cause I don't recall it from my (nor my friends previous cruises) do the cards change from cruise to cruise? Meaning how do they know that a card is from a previous sailing? Not looking to take advantage of a situation, just hadn't noticed that they changed...

Pia-your husband is prior military, right? Can you shop at a nearby commissary? We can, and they have Melita #1's for cheap, cheap, cheap.

LOL. I did get them cheap cheap cheap. The machine will die before I ever run out of filters.

I beg to differ with you on this. Came off the Diamond last month and it definitely was not fresh brewed.

that is funny, we just got off the Diamond two weeks ago and they had freshly brewed in the coffee bar on deck 5.

the stuff in HC was bad though at least for my taste

Only handicap cabins have seats in their showers.

No, the cards do not change. They supposedly have the name of the ship and date of cruise written on the back of them. Sometimes they do; sometimes they don't.

Re the coffee...I just rediscovered an old non-electric coffee solution for myself...it's the old Melita type cone. You put the filter in the cone, then some ground coffee and pour the hot water through. I've been using it at home for a few months now and I forgot how easy and portable it is. The cone itself takes up some space, but the filters are flat...you just need a mug for it to drip into and some hot water.

This is exactly what we did on our recent TA on the Caribbean Princess. We pre-ground a supply of our favorite coffee, Room Service provided the hot water (we actually ordered tea, but didn't use any tea bags) and we were all set for delicious morning coffee.

I had a little trouble finding the Melita plastic cones, but Bed, Bath & Beyond ordered two for us...$5.95 each if I remember correctly (and they waived shipping!)

Hi All

Today Lisbon, looks like we have docked in a different place from the last time we were here, as can not see the monument to the explores or the monastery,

suite lounge, next to wedding chapel and linked, a few sofas a couple f tv a food station coffee machine, not seen any passengers in it as its on deck 14 along from my cabin

The last of the Princess Execs, have left the ship, they were easy to spot as they were the ones having crew carrying their bags for them,

Last night the Crown grill, the service out standing on arrival greeted by my surname, then while at the table our first names but with sir or madam first,

The food could not have been better and not in short supply, my request was lobster cake with scallops, the scallops were a delight and would have ordered more if it was not for the fact that our main courses were still to come,

I went for the barramundi cooked in a bag, excellent with a side order of lobster tails, my table mates took the meat options and all were most impressed, my last visit to the Crown grill on another ship had been a let down, this time perfect right up to dessert, where we requested cobbler without looking at the menu, only to be told it has been dropped, the finest dessert Princess does no longer available, this could mean future cruises being cancelled another cruise line sought, they can not do this, they get you hooked on the finest dessert upon the seas, mean why else book a cruise, then delete it, so after the shock, we decided to go for the second best the soufflé only to be told that to has been deleted from the menu, by this time we are ready to demand a meeting with the Captain, however our waiter comes to the aid of Princess and says try the new cheese cake, OK we said, an excellent choice, this is not a New York style cheese cake but a far finer example of the chefs art, so we left happy after an meal fit for a king, first class service, good food, good company, but waiters that smiled and chatted and again recalled past meetings, one recalled our diner in the Crown Grill on board the Emerald, now its three years since I ate on board the ship and five since I cruised on her, these guys are good.

The casino is starting to pay out more, we can now play at no cost as we have enough winnings on our cards for enough visits to see us through to the end of our cruise.

I have worked out why my fridge thinks its an oven some times, its possible to close the cabinet door with out the fridge door being fully closed, the result is the fridge goes into over drive trying to cool itself, the problem is the hot air gets trapped in the cabinet, warming the fridge that the tries harder to cool itself producing more heat and you see the problem,

Went to watch a movie on the TV, the one I wanted was not working right, luckily it crashed only a few minutes into to it, have heard ones say they have got half way through only for a movie to crash, any way I decided to watch Flight, those of you have seen it will know it has an opening that I did not expect to see on a Princess movie, even if she was a nice looking girl, may be a small warning for those with kids.

Well time to go explore

Yours Shogun

You can take an unused coffee card to your next cruise. Anne

Hi,

We're on Lido deck, I'll take a pic for you later of the bathroom door, as you go past the desk on the right there is a full length mirror on the left, then infront of you is the wardrobe, you turn to the right so the wardrobe is on the left, then the bathroom is infront of you and the cupboard with safe and also some shelves on the right.

Thanks so much for the photos and descriptions of an Inside Cabin with the horizontal/longitudinal orientation; I am booked into one of these in August.

Questions:

1) How adequate is the luggage storage area? Is it big enough to accomodate a couple of the big 53" rollers? How about adding a couple of 22" rollon/carry-on suitcases? The photos appear to show partitions that may interfere a bit.

2) Is there one of those pesky small portable tables in the cabin? If so, where did you stow yours to get it out of the way?

3) Where is the room safe? Is it at easily accessible?

4) Where is the full length mirror? On the back of a closet door?

Thanks
