mez9757 Posted June 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2013 Does anyone know what the different cabin categories indicate when considering a certain type of cabin? For example we are looking to book on NCL Sun in Feb, 2014 and are wanting a balcony but are confused about all the different types of balconies available. What are the differences between the B1, B2, B3, BA, BB, BC, BD & BX rooms?? They are all the same sq footage. It seems all cruise lines have this type of coding but none seem to have the "key" so we can see what the differences are between the categories. Any help is appreciated! :)
Rare Keith1010 Posted June 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2013 You might want to also post this on the NCL Board. Keith
KirkNC Posted June 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2013 The cruise lines base it on desirability so as you go up in category, a cabin with the exact same size and features in a more desirable location will be up one level. It also is impacted by things such as obstructed versus no obstructed views, what is above or below the cabin etc.

Tiggertastic Posted July 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2013 BA is the midship on higher deck, the letter goes down and the price goes down So a bd £200 less than a bc next door is worth having
cb at sea Posted July 10, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Have the deck plans IN FRONT OF YOU when booking! Not only do you want to know what catagory you're paying for...you should know WHERE on the ship it is located! Never "book blind"....pull up a copy of the deck plans! You'll see what it is you're paying for!
