PoPPoP450 Posted July 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Can anyone tell me what the weather is normally like in Nov. crossing the Atlantic? A general idea is good and any other tips would help.
Rare Keith1010 Posted July 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2013 If you are asking about North Atlantic it will likely be cool and there is a good chance of rough seas. If you are asking about a South Atlantic crossing the outside temperatures will be warmer and the seas likely smoother but there is always a chance for some rough seas. taglovestocruise Posted July 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2013 We did a Rome to Galveston last Nov. There were many nights of rain and a bit cool. Most of the port days were sunny and fair. Did not notice any days or nights that had rough seas. There were six or seven 25 hour days, also remember that the starboard side of the ship will never see the sun. BUT you can never predict mother nature or the Atlantic. We have done two west bound transatlantics and they have been some of our best cruises. Good luck and happy cruising. KirkNC Posted July 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Welcome to Cruise Critic. Remember November is still hurricane season though generally not the worst month.
navybankerteacher Posted July 5, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Mediterranean to Florida is likely to be in 70's; Northern Europe to New York is likely to be in 60's. Sea conditions on either route could be anything from mill-pond to 30+ foot seas. Both, by the way are North Atlantic -- for it to be South Atlantic, you would be talking Africa south of Morrocco to Brazil.
Rare Scrapnana Posted July 5, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Welcome to Cruise Critic! I would not let the possibility of rough seas/storms be the deciding factor on doing a transatlantic. There is absolutely no way to say what will happen on your particular cruise. Decide if the cruise is something you really want to do - the number of sea days, ports (if any), cruise line, etc.
