Ginnyjen Posted September 2, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2013 So sorry to ask this, but I'm looking for a Ft. Lauderdale hotel and I don't know how to search on this board. Thanks for any help.
candbgirl Posted September 2, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2013 Go to the Florida ports of calls forum. They usually have lots of good information. I usually stay at the Renaissance but there are tons of hotels in FLL.

Krazy Kruizers Posted September 3, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 3, 2013 You will see over the next couple of days that many of us like the Embassy Suites Hotel located on 17th Street and the Harbor Shops are right behind them. There are restaurants there as well as Publix (grocery store that sells alcohol and wine among many other things). Total Wine is where many people buy their wines to take onto the ship. Rare boards Posted September 3, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 3, 2013 Hyatt Place is located very near the Embassy Suites and is just as close to the Harbours shops, Total wine and the Publix at a very good rate.
cruiseapril Posted September 3, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 3, 2013 Embassy Suites has a good restaurant and lunch is served on the patio. We like Embassy Suites and the Holiday Inn Express (quiet hotel.)
djhsolara Posted September 3, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 3, 2013 We like the Hyatt Place or Hyatt House Cruiseport. Both are in the same complex, walking distance to restaurants and are close to both the airport and port. CaveDiving Posted September 3, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 3, 2013 So sorry to ask this, but I'm looking for a Ft. Lauderdale hotel and I don't know how to search on this board. Thanks for any help. About the most inexpensive and convenient I have found is the Remada Airport/Cruiseport, 2275 West State Road 84, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312, 954-584-4000 reservations@ramadinnairport.com, http://www.RamadaInnAirport.com They have a complementary shuttle from the airport and to the cruiseport. cccole Posted September 3, 2013 #17 Share Posted September 3, 2013 The Hyatt Pier 66 is our favorite pre and post cruise hotel. And a short walk over the bridge to the Quarter Deck for dinner is wonderful. Cherie
Rare JamesEM Posted September 3, 2013 #18 Share Posted September 3, 2013 DW and I prefer the Embassy Suites because of the two rooms, breakfast, happy hour and the great staff, however the HIE is OK if you are only staying there one night. E-500 Posted September 3, 2013 #23 Share Posted September 3, 2013 La Quinta Hollywood has all the tricks. Cheaper than the others mentioned here. Free breakfast with waffles, nice pool, big lobby, free shuttle to/from airport and to the cruise port. Free car parking/storage for 14 nights if you drive down. Shopping and multiple full service restaurants a 5 minute walk away. Nice setting, quiet. Perfect for a 1-2 night pre or post cruise stay.
barbarah33 Posted September 3, 2013 #24 Share Posted September 3, 2013 I have stayed at the Embassy Suites multiple times and if you ask for room overlooking the ships, when you wake up the morning of your cruise you can see your ship docked and waiting. Or if you are an early riser you can watch her sail in. The same goes for the 66 and what was the Marriott but I believe it has changed hands. A few years ago we discovered the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood - about a 10 minute cab ride each way, and now we always stay there. They have lots and lots of dining options, a beautiful pool area, huge casino of you like to gamble, etc. We will stay for few days either before or after sailing and have no need to rent a car; everything we want is right there in the complex.
