Dress code for Chops Grille

Recommended Posts

As I was putting in our reservation for Chops Grille on Navigator, I noticed this also. My husband does not like wearing a jacket on a cruise. He does not mind a shirt and tie though. Is this dress code enforced?

Dress Suggestion

"We suggest smart casual attire in Chops Grille - jackets for men, dresses or pantsuits for women. On formal evenings onboard, formal attire is also appropriate in the restaurant; which includes suits and ties or tuxedos for men and cocktail dresses for women."

I always wear jeans, a nice button down shirt and a sports coat. Sometimes ill wear a Bow tie or normal tie but not all the time. Jackets are not needed at all. Most of the time I'm the only person wearing one. Sometimes one or two others but most don't. It's not even required at 150 Central Park.

Is it your first time at Chops? You are in for a treat! Now we are hooked. My husband always wears slacks and a collared shirt. We eat there for both formal nights to avoid packing formal wear. I wear slacks and a nice top also.

I can't wait for Chops on our cruise coming up. Already know what I'm ordering.....crab cake, filet w/bernaise sauce, mashed potatoes, and mud pie. I usually get the Chops filet in the main dining room too. Delicious!

Enjoy!!!!

I found this thread with some great pictures of Chops Grille food! :D

Those photos were from me. It tasted as good as it looked. The next time we went, we had the mashed potatoes and those were good too.

I wish they would offer some desserts as good as that in the main dining room. I'd pay an upcharge and have mud pie every night! :-)

You're going to like it. Not just the food but the atmosphere and service. We rarely go to MDR anymore, it's Chops/Portofino/Windjammer. We have completely burned out on the loud, hectic, banquet atmosphere of the MDR. Not to insult people who like that, it's just not for us anymore.

Just returned this morning from Freedom of the Seas, went to Chops Wednesday evening. I wore a button up collared shirt and slacks and we were seated in the very front of the restaurant. Saw three groups of guest that were not dressed per the suggested attire (Shorts, tee shirt) escorted to the back of the restaurant.
