Rare A&L_Ont Posted September 11, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2013 On the allure during the ice show they pick some kids to go on the ice show how do you get them picked ??? For Oasis, it works as follows. We have never seen the ice show on Allure but I am guessing it would be comparable. Other please chime in if it is not. Sit in the first two seats in the front row on the port and starboard side where the stairs enter the ice level. Then when the push swans come out and they come to the stair at the ice level have your kids be ready to go. We got our DS on 2 weeks ago on Oasis. He loved it. Just be prepared for sad eyes if they don't get on. There are many shows per sailing so if it doesn't work the first time you can always try again. Big key is have reservations, and get there early to get the right seats. They are no longer labeled for young children as in previous years. Good luck, I hope it works out. Rare Lionesss Posted September 11, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2013 Another way is if you are in a suite, talk to the Concienage. He had the children placed in the saved seats in suite section and then they were put in the swans. Sea Ya

We always take care of ourselves.:) Maybe that is why the OP of the thread about not booking expensive rooms is complaining. Perhaps they want the concierge to do everything, logical and illogical. I can't wait to read their review, I mean complaints, when they return. I have overheard some "great" people in the CL telling, I mean... well telling the concierge what they want. I wonder who held their hands to get that type of person from their homes to the ship. Andrew

Andrew On our June Oasis cruise there were two seats at each opening onto the ice with signs that said "for children only".

reallyitsmema Posted September 11, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 11, 2013 On Freedom it was definitely something that was prearranged. On either side of the rink, there were seats that had reserved signs on them. Two families were escorted in by a crew member and one child from each family was in the show. Rare A&L_Ont Posted September 11, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 11, 2013 Now was that necessary? I guess we are stealing the OP's thread for a few posts. Sorry OP. We will have to read their side of the review of the unhappy high cost cruisers, and then we each formulate our own opinions.

Our sailing was on Oasis the last week of August 2013 and no signs for that sailing on either side.

You are right... on the Freedom it as pre-arranged. I talked with the couple who's children (both of them) were in the show. They just inquired at Guest Services about the possibility. GS made arrangements for them to meet with someone from the show... and they had to sign a waiver. The children also had to be dressed appropriately -- long pants and shoes and socks. The mom also told me both of the children had to be able to be picked up... a size that the actors could assist and pick up. That's what I was told... Good luck!! FLSteve11 Posted September 11, 2013 #12 Share Posted September 11, 2013 On the Explorer, we just got there early and as we were walking in one of the crew members asked us if DD wanted to do it. We weren't planning it, just going to the show, but certainly being there early was the thing.
xxoocruiser Posted September 11, 2013 #13 Share Posted September 11, 2013 On the allure during the ice show they pick some kids to go on the ice show how do you get them picked ??? RCCL partners with Make-A-Wish Foundation. If there are any children aboard being granted a wish from the foundation than they have already been pre-selected. If not than the child is selected long before the ice show starts as the producer needs to reseat the family so that the child has easy access to the ice. Best to be one of the early birds to the show.
