All,

Going to be spending the day at both Islands during our up coming Carnival Cruise.

Looking for recommendations on locations where we can beach snorkel and has a place to eat/drink (for the wives, since they don't snorkel)

Thanx for all recommendations!

Cheers!

On Grand Turk, just keep walking to the LEFT (through Margaritaville) and you'll come to a place on the beach called Jack's Shack. Place for the wives to hang out and great snorkeling right off the beach. Lovely clear blue water and fine sand. Its about 1/2 mile from the dockyard.

I've been reading about something in Grand Turk called "The Wall". can we get to it from the beach? All of those with me are expert swimmers (if that matters).

If not how about a few cheap boat charter/rental folks names that will take us for an hour or 2. Don't want to make it an all day event since wives want to do other things.

I will be in GT Oct 3. We booked a 2hr snorkel excursion to the wall through Crystal Seas. They have been very easy to work with and if you sail after this, I will let you know how the snorkeling is. They leave right off the beach between Margaritaville and Jack Shack, which makes it very easy. The catch to this is, they have a min of 4 max 10 for this excursion.

For St Thomas, I recommend Sapphire Beach. The place is gorgeous and the snorkleing is right there from the shore. There's a sandy area for swimming and the rocks and coral are right there too. It's great for the ladies in the family as well if they don't snorkel, they can still see stuff from being right there in the water.

I have a link to my review from that day there and there's also tons of pictures as well. :)
