SnootieTootie Posted September 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2013 We returned from the Gem September 7. I forgot to mention that there were several drink options in the buffet area now (besides iced tea). There was an orange drink, and a strawberry drink, iced tea and lemonade! All were light and refreshing, similar to Crystal Light. Great alternative to purchased soda, and I no longer have to pack Crystal Light!

RJ2002 Posted September 12, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2013 We had the lemonade on our recent Star cruise, and really liked it! Nice quality, and was not 'watered down'.
Fishbait17 Posted September 12, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2013 Can either of you tell me if the lemonade was sweetened with real sugar or an artificial sweetener? On the Breakaway, it wasn't clearly marked either way. Since I have food allergies involving some artificial sweeteners, I didn't want to chance tasting it.. Would LOVE to not have to bring my own lemonade! (I generally only drink water, but use lemonade as a mixer). Robin
SnootieTootie Posted September 12, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted September 12, 2013 None of the choices said "sugar free". But, I would ask before consuming.
Fishbait17 Posted September 12, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 12, 2013 I know on the Breakaway, the others were labeled as "low calorie" but the lemonade was unmarked.. Nearby workers did not know when we asked. Robin
RJ2002 Posted September 12, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2013 The lemonade I had on the Star did not taste as though it had artificial sweetener to me. I don't care for artificial sweeteners, so if it did have it, it certainly was good.
david_sobe Posted September 12, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2013 That is great news, I hope they have this on the Epic :) Yes they have it on Epic. In Feb they had lemonade and mango flavored water at the buffet. I wish they would serve it in the MDR or specialty restaurants but I would be dreaming. That would cut into their soda profit. But definately a perk for the buffet and a long time waiting. The mango water was delicious.

Nearby workers did not know when we asked. Robin When this stuff first came out about a year or so ago, someone actually posted info on the ingredients from a package and as I recall it was basically like Crystal Light. A search might find it although I'm struggling to think of the best key words to use. What is currently being served - not sure.
whtbearfan Posted October 12, 2013 #11 Share Posted October 12, 2013 Good to hear regarding the options. On the tea, is it all unsweetened? We usually drink our tea 1/2&1/2. I am sure they have sugar, but what artificial sweeteners are offered if all tea is unsweetened? Thanks.

If he or she did not know off hand I'm sure they would be happy to find out and get back to you.
whtbearfan Posted October 12, 2013 #16 Share Posted October 12, 2013 Thanks for the pic mitsugirly. Seeing the pic, is through a despinser how all the unsweetened tea is served ? So do NCL ships (I'm sailing the Sky) have sweet tea? Do they have brewed tea or only tea made from concentrate? Thanks

Rare mitsugirly Posted October 13, 2013 #21 Share Posted October 13, 2013 Here's a link when this topic was being discussed before. It mentions some of the ships that these were found on and also someone commented that a NCL member told them they would be on all ships around February.
