ruby dec 6-2014, unusual that mostly sold out?

thinking of booking 14 day Ruby Caribbean on Dec 6, 2014

 

When checking room availability on the Princess site, most rooms are sold, is this unusual so far out? could there be a large group aboard?

I just checked and wouldn't say "lots" of availability but there are some cabins available on most decks. I suspect this cruise is also sold as two 7-day cruises although the Princess site didn't show them as such. When a cruise is sold as both a 14-day cruise and two 7-day cruises, blocks of cabins are set aside for each option. So if you're looking at the 14-day cruise, the cabins set aside for each 7-day cruise show as sold.

maybe I'll try a TA, I only looked on the Princess site. Would really like a Caribe aft balcony!

Princess is holding back cabins for the the 14 day cruise. They always have less held back for the 14 day. Find a cabin you like and ask your TA to see if Princess will release it for the 14 day cruise. They're usually pretty accommodating this far in advance.
