From Rotterdam to Fll, I have no problem right now, have not booked air. I would hope they make their minds up soon. Having ships that big is great for the company, but a PITA when things go wrong.

They won't keep Allure limping around until 2015 and they have said it requires an extended dry dock to fix it. They won't bump Oasis now all the cruises booked so I reckon it will be a slot early 2014 whenever Rotterdam can fit it in.

cruising the western route on 23 feb on allure. Selfishly hope its fixed but have a niggling feeling that it'll go into dry dock around that time :(

We might be able to get some info from a friend of ours on board Oasis who is a senior officer. When she is on board we try to go to dinner or at least lunch.

 

Might not be as reliable as the bar tenders or the the waiters at JR though.;)

Actually the route of using the Oasis' dry dock slot would save RCCL the most money as no cruises would be disrupted. People that were going across the pond on the Oasis would go on the Allure, as long as she can keep the schedule, the Allure cruises would go on the Oasis and the same when the Oasis takes the Allure dry dock slot.

 

If they need to replace a pod on the Allure, I'm sure they will need plenty of time to get one built as I'm sure there isn't one of those azipods just laying around!

 

I'm sure they want to get the Allure fixed as soon as possible, but since it probably needs to go to a dry dock that can fit this size of ship, their options are limited, so the option of using the Oasis dry dock schedule might be their best option.

 

This is just an opinion of a regular cruiser, not a professional ship repairman!:rolleyes::eek::D

Didn't someone say they could dry dock her in the US if a navy facility or something was available? Makes more sense than crossing the ocean

Timing wise that would be ideal. Slow month, after he holidays and before March breaks, Easter and hen summer peak season.

I also said if she will be fixed it be in January and February, its low season. I just wait until official word comes out to really know what will happen.

We have come a long way from the propulsion problem thread.

Hoping RCL handles this well, and informs us A.S.A.P. of their plans.

Does your reliable source know if this will be just a short one to fix the pod, or if they will go ahead and do the full overhaul they are already planning for 2015?
