lovemylab Posted November 25, 2013 #26 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Yes, but where else could they put a Zenith level lounge? I can't think of anywhere but Michael's and they were using it as the "VIP" lounge on our Summit cruise in September. It was being used as a VIP Lounge on my March Summit cruise as well but only for a few hours of the day. At night (after dinner) it was open to everyone. Rare cruisestitch Posted November 25, 2013 #28 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Frankly,I'm underwhelmed at the Elite Plus list. Sure, the 200 minutes of internet and the laundry perks will be nice. Otherwise where are the other things we had hoped for/requested/suggested/wished over the years? Things like -- Double points for singles booking at the 200% rate Discount coupons for hair salon, manicures, pedicures Those two came to mind first, but there have been lots of others suggested over the years. It would stand to reason that Elite-Plus should be admitted to Diamond Plus and Zenith into Pinnacle. Also, I still don't understand the point system going forward. My next cruise in January is in a veranda for 10 nights. So will that be the equivalent of 30 points (3x10) under the new system?

Also your point total is correct 3 x 10 = 30 points.

Janet987 Posted November 25, 2013 #35 Share Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Many mysteries in those terms and conditions... savings certificates ??? upgrades ?? anyone know what they are talking about??? Savings Certificates are nothing new…I used them over the years and did also for my upcoming cruise..all terms seem the same, e.g. new bookings only, before final payment, blah, blah. Upgrades have been expanded beyond the OV category. Now if you book an A2 you can request an A1 as available. The terms all seem reasonable to me, similar to what was in place but now can be used in more categories. dkjretired Posted November 25, 2013 #36 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Anyone find an explanation of this; In many cases, guests may automatically become charter members of Celebrity's new Elite Plus or Zenith tier. It is important to note that no current members will lose any of the benefits they have come to expect and enjoy today. I'm very surprised, I assumed there would be perks worth striving for with Elite +. 10 and 15% discounts remind of the original Elite perks that were very close to worthless. We'll be Elite + after our next cruise, but other than the 200 minutes of internet, I don't see anything to get excited about

The new tier system is being used to slow down the number of people climbing to new levels. I was told on Saturday by a Captain's Club rep that the reciprosity stops at Diamond and Elite. CruisingChick Posted November 25, 2013 Author #43 Share Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) sailing in veranda says you will earn 3 points so assuming this will convert to 90 points. Surely this makes life easier getting to Elite or am I missing something? Going forward - starting today - if you sail in a veranda it's 3 points per night of the cruise. So a 7 night cruise in veranda = 21 points, 10 night cruise 30 points. Edited November 25, 2013 by CruisingChick

The perks do not motivate me to choose Celebrity in order to come to these levels. As I have said before, I will continue to sail Celebrity because I like this cruiseline and if the itinerary and price of the cruise is imo right. I will not decide in terms of membership to the club. It is a pitty about this imo meaningless perks. I was hoping something like special discounts per cruises starting already at Elite plus. MSC cruises gives for example discounts per cruises according to the tier level. Royal gives solo suplement discounts after certain poins. I guess perks like complimentary access to Persian gardens are just not good enough to me.

I do not mind them offering more tiers, that makes sense to reward those who have been so loyal, I will just resent it if they take THAT away from me. You need to log into Captain's Club and see what your new cruise point total is. It now takes 300 cruise points to reach Elite. Your five night cruise will net you 25 points. Add that to the total showing and see if that gets you to or over 300.
