gottogocruisin Posted December 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2013 I think I may have a bit of OBC when I cruise. I have paid for everything I could ahead of time thinking that I would not have any OBC, but now I know I will. My question is = if you don't use all your OBC do you lose it? If that is so I will not transfer it into my account and save it for another cruise. Thanks for your help.

If the OBC is not from RCI, then any unused OBC will either be returned to the credit card on file as a credit or you can ask for cash on the day prior to debarkation. If you take any money out of the casino against your SeaPass account, you will be charged a 5% service charge. yogimax Posted December 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2013 Doublecheck with Guest Services and ask if it is refundable or not. If it's not refundable, you either have to spend it or cash it out in the casino for a fee.

gottogocruisin Posted December 20, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted December 20, 2013 We have paid for the drink package already so that is a mute point, but I never thought about the casino and getting cash. My OBC is from the RCI credit card with Bank of America. Does that make a difference. I would love to spend it of course, but need other ideas. I thought of pictures, but this is a cruise my best friend of 60 years and I are taking and leaving the guys home. Thanks for your help. I have no idea why the title is OMG because I meant it to say OBC. Senior moment.
cb at sea Posted December 20, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) You could cancel the drink package and re-buy it onboard....there's no benefit to buying in advance price-wise. Use your OBC for it! It's not like they "run out"! If the OBC is from YOUR credit card, it's refundable. I would NEVER pay a fee to obtain my own money....so either let it be refunded to you, or use it onboard. Same result. :) (I do not have the RC Visa card, so I don't know anything about it)
kc320 Posted December 21, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 21, 2013 If you really don't think you need it & are not in danger of losing any of your points then why not just let it continue to accumulate? Depending on how many points you have & whether you have made final payment you can also redeem your points for $$ off your cruise...just another choice you might not have thought of... gottogocruisin Posted December 21, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted December 21, 2013 thanks so much everyone. I knew that CC people would help me. I do appreciate all the suggestions and will think about them for sure. It probably would be best to use it when my husband and I cruise again!!! You can just get it back in cash from Guest Services on the day prior to debarkation. Just a warning, but if the unused OBC is returned to the credit card on file, and that credit card happens to be your BofA RCI card, then you will lose "double" points for that credit. dealer9296 Posted December 21, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 21, 2013 Yesterday I had $10 on my OBC and I was trying to figure out how to use it. Didn't need another hat. :-) I had them apply it to my room steward as an extra tip. Easy.
xxoocruiser Posted December 21, 2013 #12 Share Posted December 21, 2013 When having a small amount of non-refundable OTB that's not needed, rather than it being lost I donate it to RCCL's Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Love this idea and the one about applying it to the room steward. What a great way to end a cruise. Thanks so much for your ideas.
