ger_77 Posted January 5, 2014 #226 Share Posted January 5, 2014 I wish they'd leave the string of lights on for sail-away. It makes it much more festive looking. Just my humble opinion. :D Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)
Rare rafinmd Posted January 5, 2014 #227 Share Posted January 5, 2014 Pretty dark out there. Will a white truck be visible? IIRC, at the bow they must work around some gates and have to watch where they park. Roy
OVgirl Posted January 5, 2014 #228 Share Posted January 5, 2014 I can't imagine going on a cruise like this. I'd be super excited...and I'm excited just watching them.
lka1012 Posted January 5, 2014 #229 Share Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) I think having the lights off keep the ship from sailing into the Condos Edited January 5, 2014 by lka1012
rajkr74 Posted January 5, 2014 #230 Share Posted January 5, 2014 Sitting here, watching the lights twinkling on Amsterdam, I can almost feel the excitement of the passengers. For the passengers who do the world cruise year after year, it must be like coming home. For some of the first timers it is the culmination of years of wishing, planning, and saving. I hope all have the time of their lives! I would love to read a step by step planning process ones goes thru for a 100+ day World Cruise. Does one do it on their own or thru a experienced TA? Well.....not in my schedule in the near future...just have to be happy with being on the Amsterdam this summer.

lka1012 Posted January 5, 2014 #246 Share Posted January 5, 2014 I realize that weather has been a problem, but if I was leaving on a World Cruise, I would be at the port several days (if not a week) prior to sailing.
