It seems nasty everywhere. Although I would like to go to warm temps, nothing sets the mood like when you leave. A cold, dreary day really is not a nice start to a much anticipated vacation

There was a photo in the paper today of icicles dripping off the oranges! Guess the price of orange juice will go up.

The Emerald Princess is in port. What a horrible sailaway for them. You can hardly see the ship, with limited visibility and rain drops over the webcam.:(

Several years ago we stood out in windy, sweeping rains for lifeboat drill. Horrible!!

We were all soaked by the time it was over.

Princess has their lifeboat drills inside.

I had to laugh when I read your title for this thread, but your right, the weather is terrible in PE as it has been over the past week or so.

This morning DH checked the port website, he said it was just as well no sail away today, as he could not see anything!

I always feel bad for cruisers (especially first timers) when a warm weather cruise starts out with awful weather. Hope the cruisers get lucky and Captain finds them better weather as they go south.

We did a sail away on an icy and snowy deck, but that was when we left from NYC on the Noordam to the Caribbean. We've also done it in the broiling sun in Fll.

I don't think anybody (except maybe you) would have wanted to spend any amount of time on an outside deck in New York harbor in the temperatures we had. The winds off the water would kill you.

Wow! They, better yet, their port agent, would have to rent equipment to get rid of that snow on deck; I wouldn't think they would carry that type of equip, on board - Btw, couldn't reach you on that e-mail addr you gave me
