Thanks Sparky , its about an 8 footer . We didn't see the 12 footer that weighs about twice as much as this one.

 

 

 

 

But we did see:

 

 

A Great Egret with eggs

 

 

 

 

A glossy Ibis

 

 

 

 

A male Anhinga looking for a mate

 

 

 

 

 

 

And some amazing growth spurts . here's a male feeding his chicks 3 weeks ago.

As you all probably know, it is a quite tense situation going on in Ukraine. Since 40% of the population in Riga is ethnic Russians, the situation in Ukraine is followed closely. Today it was a demonstration outside the Russian embassy here in Riga in support for Ukraine:

Already had pizza in a PAW photo but I'm still amazed at how well this little oven works. Besides, the flames had pretty colors.

It must be Spring! I have a pollen ring around the pool, and these clumpy, sticky, "pollen bombs" are everywhere!
