Most memorable cruise

My husband and I plan on booking our next cruise in March when we are on the Freedom. My question is, what was your favorite cruise, ports? We have done the Western and Eastern Caribbean and the Panama Canal cruises.

I would recommend a Transatlantic. We did a 17-day TA for our honeymoon on the HAL Noordam from New York to Rome with stops in Bermuda - Madeira, Portugal - Lisbon, Portugal - Cadiz, Spain - Casablanca, Morocco - Barcelona, Spain - Monte Carlo, Monaco and Florence, Italy.

I would suggest looking into the Transatlantics that RCCL is offering, try and pick one with at least five or six port stops. It was a thrilling voyage.

Memorable (topic subject line) and favorite are two different things, to me. My most memorable (up to this point), was the first cruise we took. It was on Navigator in 2004. I don't really remember many of the details of the cruise, except had a great time and WOW.

My favorite is jumping on Majesty for a weekend getaway. We live in S. Florida, so it is easy to get away for a weekend. Most of the time, it is Thanksgiving weekend. We simply RELAX and enjoy.

I have two.

The first being Dubai to Singapore. Great itinerary, the second when I went to. Egypt and Israel. Walking through Jerusalem was a wonderful experience, I only wish it was a little safer in that region to take my daughter to experience.

We plan on doing one of the cruises that include the two Israeli ports, Haifa and Ashkolon. We have been to Israel on land vacations twice and I have always felt safer there than in the US at times.

Then you MUST do Alaska, the most memorable cruise we have ever taken. And Radiance of the Seas was a terrific ship. The itineraries are almost all the same with any line. We missed Sitka and Glacier Bay, Hubbard Glacier was breath taking, didn't mind missing the Bay at all. Just sayin... We left and returned to Vancouver, wonderful port!!! Up and back down with 2 chances to see the inside passage.

It's paradise up there! We are going again at the first chance we get.:D

Loved the RCCL Alaska cruisetour..... the most unbeatable all round experience. Next year I am on a repositioning from Singapore to Dubai. May stay on to Istanbul and do the Suez Canal..... THAT may very prove to be my trip of a lifetime..... 4 ports of call along the west coast of India....

It wasn't so much we didn't feel safe, but we had to have police escorts with the tours in Egpyt and had to stay in convoy. Our movements were very restricted.

In Israel we had to climb over police with armed guns as we passed through from the wailing wall into the old town as they were sat in the shade in the heat of day. As adults it was fine but I can imagine a little intimidating for children.

We really enjoyed ourselves especially Israel. When we went back and went to the Dead Sea yes I agree it was perfectly safe. It is like any country you go to, some areas are safer than others.

I have loved every cruise but would have to say my most memorable was our Around the Horn cruise on Mariner in 2009. Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Chile, etc. !!!! I would do that cruise again in a minute!

Favourite cruise port is probably St Maarten or Cozumel - just due to the gorgeous clear seas and friendly people.

Most memorable cruise was on Allure last August when I was there over my birthday. I met the Hotel Director, Raimund Gschaider, at the welcome back party. He asked if I had been on Allure before and I said it was my 3rd time in 9 months and I was celebrating my birthday. On my birthday there was a knock at the door and a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a thank you note from Raimund!

Most looking forward to my first TA in November, including a stop in St Maarten and Alaska next year.

Very hard question after 56 cruises, seeing a stream of hot lava pour into the ocean and seeing the steam rise after dinner was special on our Hawaii cruise, captain turned ship around so we could all see it , also loved Naples, food was fantastic . Also beachs at St John are always special

For us, most memorable for the ports AND since it was our first cruise, including a big family cruise- made it very special. Hard for us to top this one, again, on our budget. 7 day left San Juan, to St. Thomas, Greneda, Guadeloupe, Venezuela, and Aruba. Now we just cruise as cheaply as possible, from the nearest port- but that first one will always be our favorite one, most likely!

Independence of the Seas westbound transatlantic from Southampton in November 2012. Absolutely horrible weather the entire time but the best experience we've had. The crew onboard was so friendly and felt like family. The passengers were mostly seasoned transatlantic sailors but never in the snobby kind of way that many experienced cruisers can come off. They all just love the sea, talking to others, and relaxing. Most sail for the sake of sailing and are not loyal Royals, just ship fans. It was a very laid back and relaxing cruise with everyone just taking what the weather dealt and making the best of it. Such a great experience.
