Neptune Lounges - Sideboards- All Ships

Would CC'ers who have recently been in Neptune/Pinnacle Suites please comment if Neptune Lounge on your ship offered the full range of choices for breakfast and lunch/mid-afternoon selections on the side boards. I know they all have the round chilled server filled but I am interested to learn if HAL is still setting out all we have been accustomed to but apparently removed from Westerdam's Neptune.

I seem to recall someone commenting Noordam has cut back on their choices.

I am not willing to pay what it costs us to sail in Neptune Suites and have HAL get stingy about offering a muffin, cookie, bagel, wedge of cheese, danish, pound cake and the other things they took away on Westerdam.

Thanks.

On the Noordam, just less than a month ago, there were regular sized plates with plastic covers on the sideboard. I didn't use the Neptune Lounge till after 11am or so, so don't know about breakfast offerings - but they did have plates of cookies, pound cake and chocolates on that sideboard. I saw chocolate covered strawberries a few times, and there were also plates of sugar free cookies. The variety was limited, as there was just the one level - flat on the surface - but I was satisfied with what I found there.

Hope this helps some.

On the Amsterdam in December/January, the breakfast offerings were as complete as I expected. A full range of cereals and pastries on the side, and the usual range of fruits, berries, yogurts and other items in the magic food bubble!

Statendam in Oct - all items as usual, but the concierge had to get them for us the first two days - never had that before.

Westerdam in Sept - no sideboard items as others have reported - a real pain to get what you wanted, and even then they were out of it.

There were some chocolates on the sideboard as Donna mentioned in her post. There were chocolate covered strawberries which my granddaughter loved.

As I stated in an earlier post, I was told new cabinets were being built for the ships that complied with US Health laws. He didn't know when they would be installed when asked.

I wonder how long it can take to build a cabinet to hold food/snacks for Westerdam's Neptune Lounge?

It's been a long time. The ships do have carpenters on board. :) Our friends' whole house was built faster. :D

Sail - I'm about to lose my connection - so I'll write more after our trip on the Z. Yesterday we boarded and there was nothing in the NL until afternoon. Then four small plates under the dome in the afternoon. That was it. I think today is better, but I've not been in there yet, only looked thru the glass. What surprised me yesterday while we were in there talking to staff was someone asked for a tiny glass of water. I looked over and realized there were no coffee cups, no water, no juice - not one thing to drink. The coffee machine did not appear to even be turned on. Odd?

You're correct Sail!

I think it has been almost a year since the issue was first reported about the Westerdam NL.

The reports of nothing on the side board started March 1, 2013 -- just a few days from now it will be a year.

This does sound strange.

Thank you

It sure doesn't take a year to build cabinets.

I was aboard the Westerdam in January; first time in a Neptune Suite. As far as I am concerned, there were more than enough goodies, both in quantity as well as variety. The stand that held them had 2 or 3 levels that were full and a Pinnacle Grill steward kept it full. I remember small sandwiches, platters of meat and cheese, sweets, and fruit. I was in the Lounge only once in the morning; I saw boxes of cereal and a toaster, but nothing to toast at that time. HAL's breakfast parfait was also available. Did not see any danish, but when I was in the Lounge, it was somewhat beyond the normal breakfast hour.

Coffee machine was on and working. Two juices and water available as well.
