alibabacruisers Posted March 15, 2014 #51 Share Posted March 15, 2014 I would not mind a Egyptian cruise, as long as a certain Belgian detective was not on the same cruise. Are you speaking of the famous Poirot?

Krazy Kruizers Posted March 15, 2014 #55 Share Posted March 15, 2014 no cruise unfortunately. Diving vacation. :)We'll be in Marsa Alam, the Red Sea further down south. I wanted a cruise, Arthur wanted to dive. He won this time round :D Even though it isn't a cruise -- it does sound wonderful. Have you ever dived there before? Rare Copper10-8 Posted March 15, 2014 #56 Share Posted March 15, 2014 I wonder what that was all about "Your port, my starboard" Duh? The two captains are advising each other how (on which side) they will pass each other so there's absolutely no confusion/margin for error. - standard SOP during passing maneuvers. In this case, those ships were passing port side (one ship) to the other's starboard side

monina01 Posted March 15, 2014 #60 Share Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) Even though it isn't a cruise -- it does sound wonderful. Have you ever dived there before? yes actually we have. This will be the 4th time there. Only place on a vacation where we have been to more than once. Nice and quiet and very good snorkeling and diving. I'm happy :) Edit: woops, not quite true, have been to St John (USVI) more than once as well Edited March 15, 2014 by monina01

rkacruiser Posted March 15, 2014 #62 Share Posted March 15, 2014 I've just finished reading "Desperate Hours" on the Andrea Doria / Stockholm crash. Interesting reading. I agree; quite a story with many very fortunate people on the Andrea Doria. The first book on the accident, Collision Course by Alvin Moscow, is a very good read as well. Rare Copper10-8 Posted March 15, 2014 #63 Share Posted March 15, 2014 What type of vessel is on the Aruba camera? Royal Netherlands Navy oceangoing patrol vessel, ZrMs (His Majesty's Ship) Zeeland P-841. She's the Dutch Navy's Caribbean station ship for three months. Behind her is the Church of Scientology's Freewinds
