I wonder what that was all about "Your port, my starboard" Duh?

The two captains are advising each other how (on which side) they will pass each other so there's absolutely no confusion/margin for error. - standard SOP during passing maneuvers. In this case, those ships were passing port side (one ship) to the other's starboard side

I've just finished reading "Desperate Hours" on the Andrea Doria / Stockholm crash. Interesting reading.

Even though it isn't a cruise -- it does sound wonderful.

Have you ever dived there before?

yes actually we have. This will be the 4th time there. Only place on a vacation where we have been to more than once. Nice and quiet and very good snorkeling and diving. I'm happy :)

Edit: woops, not quite true, have been to St John (USVI) more than once as well

I agree; quite a story with many very fortunate people on the Andrea Doria.

The first book on the accident, Collision Course by Alvin Moscow, is a very good read as well.

What type of vessel is on the Aruba camera?

Royal Netherlands Navy oceangoing patrol vessel, ZrMs (His Majesty's Ship) Zeeland P-841. She's the Dutch Navy's Caribbean station ship for three months. Behind her is the Church of Scientology's Freewinds
