CanWeGoYet? Posted March 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2014 It's been several years since I've been on a Celebrity cruise. Wondering what are your favorites in the MDR? Appetizer, soup, salad, entree, dessert - what shouldn't be missed?
CanWeGoYet? Posted March 31, 2014 Author #2 Share Posted March 31, 2014 I know you all must have some things you have to order every time you see it on the menu! Doesn't have to be every category - post just a dessert or soup or salad if that's what comes to mind. Don't be shy. :)

Viva_la_Vida Posted March 31, 2014 #9 Share Posted March 31, 2014 These were four of my favorites but the Cobia definitely took the crown -my favorite by far! I didn't post dessert menus because they were all fantastic the crème brûlée was especially good! Enjoy!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Viva_la_Vida Posted March 31, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 31, 2014 In case those pics are too small to see, they highlight the BBQ-glazed Cobia, spinach turnover, wildberry and strawberry soups. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

awhfy Posted March 31, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 31, 2014 All the soups are wonderful. The beef carpaccio is absolutely to die for! Shrimp cocktail, nice spicy cocktail sauce. Rack of lamb, duck, prime rib, pork chops, any of the fish dishes are superb. Our waiter provided a family style plate of al dente vegetables (green beans, carrots, broccoli) every evening as he noticed after the first evening that we all enjoyed vegetables (we never asked, but boy did his tip increase from the 6 of us!). I adore the crime brûlée. The traditional chocolate layer cake is delightfully dense & moist (ask for vanilla sauce instead of ice cream) I need to go & try to find something for lunch now--I've made myself hungry... poolwife Posted March 31, 2014 #13 Share Posted March 31, 2014 CREME BRULEE!!!! Also, love the cream of mushroom soup. YUUUUUMMMMM! So happy it is on the menu all the time now. At least it was on my recent Silhouette cruise. I hope it is on the "M" class ships also. Anyone know?? Also anyone know if you can get creme brulee in Blu? Bailey & Sophie Posted March 31, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 31, 2014 Ditto on the escargot and French onion soup. Shrimp cocktails seemed to have puny shrimp that were on the limp side. I didn't get one this time but DH did ad was a bit disappointed. While I usually prefer the fish dishes, the lamb is awesome - very tender. Ruthk Posted March 31, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 31, 2014 I agree on the shrimp cocktail - they remind me of the shrimp used on the cheap shrimp rings you can buy in the grocery stores. They are limp and inferior. But on the plus side, there are so many wonderful things on the menu - top on my list would be the french onion soup, prime rib, creme brulee, all ice creams, bread sticks, salmon, oh, I could go on and on - - - everything is great when you don't have to cook it! CanWeGoYet? Posted April 1, 2014 Author #17 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Thanks for all the suggestions - I have a lot of things I need to try! Haven't eaten beef in decades but will probably try some to see if it's something I can eat a little of now & still tolerate. Going to Kobe, to meet family, and given how famous Kobe beef is I don't want to appear ungrateful if that is on the menu when we meet for dinner. JEDIKNIGHT Posted April 1, 2014 #19 Share Posted April 1, 2014 It’s been years for me too, but it seems many of the MDR menu items are similar. IF the quality is like I remember, here’s a few I love: *French Onion soup. As long as cheese isn’t burnt, it’s awesome. *NY Strip Steak with cafe du paris butter. (Hate to admit I like something remotely french but whatever) *Shrimp Cocktail appetizer was always great. *Crust French bread from the bread basket. (By the 3rd night, the waiters realize….no multi-grain stuff here) *Short Rib Lasagna: I LOVE that one. Great topic.
Erinchita Posted April 1, 2014 #20 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Oooh good thread. Not to hijack, but - silly question. I was on the Solstice in May 2013 and am sailing on the Silhouette this weekend. Will the MDR choices be the same? Just curious.
