SilvertoGold Posted April 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I should know this, but another thread has made me think that I should stop making my own list of what I send out to the laundry and keep one of the triplicate sheets. Is this what everyone does? And which copy? Thanks a lot!
Mary Ellen Posted April 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Yes, the bottom copy is for you to keep.

Windsailer Posted April 9, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I always keep the pink copy. And I keep it after the charge has posted to my account in case their is an issue.
Rare POA1 Posted April 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Someone else - and I apologize as I forgot who it was - suggested that you take a digital photo of what you're sending out as well. We always keep a copy of the sheet (pink) and check our clothes back in to make sure we're not missing anything.
cruz chic Posted April 9, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I always keep the pink but on Princess my room steward gave me heck for it. According to him you weren't supposed to keep anything. Strange.
Windsailer Posted April 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I've never had a problem with keeping the pink sheet - and if my DH who stuffs the bag didn't have such a good memory I'd take photos, too. And if we really stuff the bag full, I put $5 in an envelope for the laundry folks.
cruz chic Posted April 9, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 9, 2014 <snip>I put $5 in an envelope for the laundry folks. I've heard that a couple times lately. To be honest, I've never thought about it but I think I'll do that this time.

We've taken photos of what we send out just in case something gets lost we can show them what it looks like. We also kept the pink copy. Krazy Kruizers Posted April 9, 2014 #10 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I have been taking digital pictures of all important items sent out to the laundry since 2005 when the laundry lost one of DH's polo shirts and I was asked to describe it. I couldn't remember which color it was or if it was solid or had stripes. I keep the bottom copy -- Pink.
Alberta Quilter Posted April 9, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 9, 2014 And if we really stuff the bag full, I put $5 in an envelope for the laundry folks. I've never thought about doing that; thanks for that idea. I have given an envelope, addressed to the laundry staff, with a gratuity, to the Front Desk and asked that it be delivered to them. But I like your way much better.

SilvertoGold Posted April 9, 2014 Author #13 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Thanks, everyone! Lots of good ideas and I like it that HAL doesn't chew you out if you keep the pink copy!
Typhoon1 Posted April 9, 2014 #14 Share Posted April 9, 2014 White copy is for laundry. Yellow copy accounting. Pink copy passenger. They should really label them better as many people forget to keep the pink for themselves.

Rare whogo Posted April 10, 2014 #16 Share Posted April 10, 2014 The HAL laundry forms are the only place I have seen NCR carbonless paper in the last ten years.

sail7seas Posted April 10, 2014 #18 Share Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) The original white top sheet goes to the laundry. Keep the yellow copy and the pink is returned with the laundered/dry cleaned garments. Doesn't matter if you choose to keep the pink...... as long as original and one copy goes to the laundry, it will be fine. Windsailer Posted April 10, 2014 #19 Share Posted April 10, 2014 That's not I was told nor is it what we do. We keep the pink, and get the white copy back. That's on all 6 or 7 HAL ships we've been on.

That's on all 6 or 7 HAL ships we've been on. That's the exact experience we've had. Keep the pink copy and the white copy is always returned with the clean laundry. We've been on every class ship in the HAL fleet.
Rare erewhon Posted April 10, 2014 #21 Share Posted April 10, 2014 The first occasion when I sent items to be laundered, the cabin steward told me to keep the pink copy, which I have done ever since. The white copy always returns with the freshly laundered items.
LuckyLoon Posted April 10, 2014 #22 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Have to agree. Keep the pink. The white copy comes back with the cleaned laundry with each item checked off. Never see the yellow again.

As long as laundry gets a copy and you get a copy, everything will be fine. When in doubt, check with your cabin steward.
