Shore Excursion Credit

We received some Shore Excursion Credits due to the offer we booked with. If we don't use any cruise excursions, can this credit be used for anything else? Or do we lose it? :(

Yes. When you board you will see it as a credit on your folio. It can and will be used for any on board charges. As charges start appearing the credit will be used up.

In general, it should show up as OBC. You can use it for anything. If it shows up as an actual shore excursion credit, then just have the purser change it to regular OBC. Shouldn't be a problem. From what I understand, any of the other offers of the "3 for Free" promotions can be exchanged for OBC.

Check the itinerary page in your Princess Cruise Personalizer. Below the itinerary there should be a paragraph stating the Excursion Credit can be used as a credit against any onboard purchases.

Enjoy your cruise...

We booked a cruise under the "3 for Free" promo and the excursion credit is showing up in our OBC's. Now it is my understanding that we will also received dinner for two at one of the specialty restaurants but I don't see anything on our Cruise Personalizer that would be for the dinners ($50?). Does anyone know how this dinner is scheduled--will there be a card in our stateroom when we board indicating the date, time and place--or do we have some say in the scheduling?

2pbears, I booked under the same promotion and it is my understanding that the the specialty restaurant is chosen and scheduled for you by Princess. Once you board the ship they will notify you when and where. I am not sure how they notify you but, I am guessing, the information will be delivered to your stateroom after boarding. If it is not, I plan to check with guest services the first night. Enjoy your cruse. Mine is 19 days away,

That's exactly right. They choose the venue and time for your specialty dinner. There should be a card in your cabin when you board or a letter/note card in your mailbox shortly thereafter.

I think you can exchange this for OBC. I did that with a bottle of wine on my last cruise. I don't drink much and I was by myself, so there was no way I was going to drink a bottle of wine alone. The wine is the cheapest stuff on the ship too, so I just traded it in for $20 OBC. I think you can do the same with the specialty dinner with this promo.

We just finished a cruise that was booked with the "3 For Free" Promo .... Our $100 per person excursion OBC was listed as a credit on each of our accounts, AND the $50 for the specialty restaurant dinner was shown on my cabin mate's account, since hers was the first name on the booking, instead of being on $25 on each account. A gift card in the cabin upon boarding indicated the dinner OBC.

We got to choose which restaurant and when.

Our promotion says the wine is a $30 value. I would love to trade it for OBC since we aren't wine drinkers either. Did you just go to the purser's desk to have it converted to OBC?

No, I called room service like when you do to trade out your Elite bar set up. You have to follow up to make sure the supervisor puts through the credit and then the people at the Purser's Desk actually apply it. I think it depends on what brand of wine you're trading in because they had to look it up and asked me what type it was.

Oh! That's great! I'd much rather have an OBC than be forced to go to either Sabatini's or the Bayou Cafe, both of which we've done and are not thrilled to repeat. Thanks for the information! :)

Really glad to hear that. DW and I don't care much for Italian food, so have zero interest in Sabatini's. As the casino comps us a couple of dinners also, and we love the food in the Crown Grill, we're going to be happy campers.

I would never have guessed to call room service. The promotion details say to redeem with the Maitre 'd, so that's why I assumed the purser's desk could handle the OBC conversion.

The instructions on the wine gift card said to give it to your dining room waiter or call room service. Since I wasn't eating in the dining room, I called room service. Apparently, they are handling a lot more nowadays than just room service orders and Elite/Suite bar set-ups. ;)

Thank you Flamomo, I appreciate that updated information. I am excited we get to pick which restaurant and when with a gift card. That works much better for us.
