S7S - I just learned of your DH's passing. You have my sympathy and prayers, both for his easy passing into eternal life and your strength for the future. Life is changed, not taken away, and we shall all meet again.

Dear Sail:

I am another one who has never met you, but nonetheless feels close to you and deeply saddened by your beloved Robert's passing. I was shocked to see this posting, and am now tearful because of the great outpouring of love from those who knew you (whether fortunately in person on a cruise or just from your postings over the years). Please know that so many people that you and Robert have touched are sending you loving thoughts of support.

To My Friend,

You know since I saw you yesterday how sorry I am for your loss. So is my DH who enjoyed talking sports with Robert the times we all met for dinner. The service was just beautiful and heartfelt.

Just know that I am there for you.

Wow. I can't believe you quoted this.

Our deepest sympathies. May your strength not desert you and your heart be strong.

Quote:

I am standing upon the seashore.

A ship at my side spreads her white

sails to the morning breeze and starts

for the blue ocean.

She is an object of beauty and strength.

I stand and watch her until at length

she hangs like a speck of white cloud

just where the sea and sky come

to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says;

"There, she is gone!"

"Gone where?"

Gone from my sight. That is all.

She is just as large in mast and hull

and spar as she was when she left my side

and she is just as able to bear her

load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her.

And just at the moment when someone

at my side says, "There, she is gone!"

There are other eyes watching her coming,

and other voices ready to take up the glad shout;

"Here she comes!"
