July 4th?

Can anyone tell me if they have sailed over July 4th? This was the only day that seemed to work for our group, We will be at sea. Do they do anything special on that day?

We've sailed the 4th twice- where we were had a big bearing on what we did. For most, assuming Americans make up the majority of cruisers, I expect what you will see is what we had on the Oasis- some celebration, a big cake, but nothing like a parade and fireworks. Some extra music stuff...

 

But we were very fortunate a few years ago on the Enchantment- it was a Bermuda to Boston to Newport, CT trip- Boston on July 3 was cool (since it was buzzing with stuff), but Newport was amazing. Some caught the end of the parade, but the best part was a surprise for all but who showed up for the M&M- where we found out that we would stay there for the fireworks.

 

Even knowing that, we didn't know was how cool it would be- we were just off where the fireworks went off. RIGHT NEXT TO IT. So very cool. But that was in the US.

The ships and crew are NOT American....4th of July (Independence Day) is an American holiday. Only Disney is allowed to have fireworks. There is nothing special on the ships because of our Independence...which we are rapidly losing.

NCL does fireworks too on their new ships.
