Oasis of the Seas....D1 hump cabin. Which deck?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are booked on the Oasis of the Seas and I am thinking about moving my D1 hump balcony cabin from deck 10 to deck 6 to be closer to the action. My only concern is having my view blocked by the life boats. If I move my cabin to deck 6 can I expect to have an obstructed view? Would it be worth relocating my cabin?

Thanks,

Adam

I don't think they block your view out, but may block your view down.

I would google your cabin number and 'oasis of the seas' to see if anyone has posted information on your cabin. Or check the reviews page on this website under 'cabin reviews'.

IMO deck 10 would be good as it would place you pretty much mid way between the pool deck / Windjammer and Central Park / Boardwalk / Royal Promenade and the MDR.

There would be no issue with any obstructed view either, although there is not much of any with the lifeboats.

Personally, I would rather be on Deck 10 than Deck 6. We had a hump on Deck 8 and it was great - like I said, probably better up than down. As stated, closer to a lot of the action in that you can walk up and down the stairs between the upper decks. Deck 6 is a long way to the Windjammer and the elevators can take a long time. :)

We were on deck 10 on the Allure and deck 9 on the Oasis. Both were fine. It gave us more steps to climb so that we could enjoy a few more consumed calories:)

Check out my review of our recent Oasis cruise. Eastern with all the Cruise Compass, a ton of "food porn" and good pictures of the ship.

ENJOY YOUR CRUISE!!

Hi. We had three D1's on the Oasis in March....6200, 6202 and 6204. We were travellling with four children under seven years old and we loved the location. They loved stopping at the carousel on the way to and from the cabin.

We popped up and down the stairs to go down to deck four or five. Deck six was great for us!

Adamknows....we had great views from each cabin...lifeboats didn't bother us at all.

I was in 6200, which had the bed by the closet and could sleep four. 6202 had the bed by the balcony, only slept two, and adjoined to 6204. Think I prefer the bed by the balcony as it's a little tight getting into the closet.

Hope that helps

We were on deck 6 on Allure in a hump handicap and loved the location. I don't recall having a problem with the lifeboat, in fact I don't think there is a lifeboat below the hump cabins.

Really loved going to Johnny Rockets for breakfast as it was so easy. And the elevators were empty most of the time they would get to Deck 6 (important with a scooter).

Loved that cabin so much we just booked a deck 6 handicap on Oasis for Oct 2015.

If I had to guess, without a picture of the ship handy, I'd say that there probably aren't any lifeboats below the hump; they'd be further "in" on the non-humped sections.
