Can I switch cruise after final payment?

Just last week I paid the balance for our July cruise, then went to a family reunion to find my cousin is cruising the week before us, same ship, same port (crazy, right?). Can I switch cruises without penalty and pay the difference ( or get refunded if the case my be)?

You are a member of Crown & Anchor, right? Call their number and ask. (800-526-9723) Sometimes they will happily do that. They did for me a few weeks back.

And that's why you don't need to buy insurance, RCL allows changes after final payment.

They did it for me as well. The cruise I switched to however cost a bit more than the one that I did not take. Not sure if that helped or not.

I'd be surprised if you get any refund or credit, but as others have mentioned, they may let you change, especially if it costs more.

I always buy trip insurance (3rd party) and have had to change a cruise date before. They were happy to make that change for me.....at no cost.

 

Please don't try to discourage people from buying insurance....
